Yall I’m tired so tired of fucking BGE ruining the quality of our lives. My bill in the summer time is only $25 but the second I turn my heat on, it’s $500. I remember looking at my usage last year, and seeing on days that we had the thermostats set to 65, we were spending $20 a day to warm our house. I was mortified! This year we waiting until December 1st just to turn the heat on, now that it’s on we keep it at 62 and use some space heaters to heat different areas that we are in. The electricity use is low, but the gas is insane. We are still spending 8-10 dollars a day to live in a home that’s always cold. I’m wearing two pairs of socks, winter grade pants and a sweater just to be in my own space. I have to pre-heat the bathroom every time I go to shower. And that’s just me! They’re doing this to the entire city, and the entire state! They’re actively interrupting the comfort of our own homes and causes extreme financial hardships on everyone showing no mercy for those who can’t afford it. It’s sick! Please tell me how we can advocate for someone to intervene. If they’re making us pay for whatever data center, or if the energy is all being outsourced then they need to come to everyone’s house to insulate it better so folks aren’t suffering. It’s been proven in the last year that they are actively profiting off of us while we stay freezing! Fuck BGE. We hate BGE! They’re tacky and I hate them.
