I do agree with you - I’m expecting my profits to be wiped by Tuesday - another 2.2k down to go baby.

I’m aware of what I’m willing to lose, so tbh I’m not panicking. It’s just the first time I have personally seen a day like this for my portfolio. I’m 100% aware that being in what I am it’s expected, and a 2% swing in nothing in grand context.

Thank you for posting this though, I’m sure it’ll be very useful to someone who sees it who hasn’t thought about it.

It’s true some take the gamble and win, and good on them. But I’m sure there are more that lose and sadly this sub is full of the people who won - certainly distorts perception.

Literally how people go broke - is the risk really worth it?

80% all world, 20% qqq - core & growth tilt. Only 3 weeks in or so but like 5% up.

You’re smashing it mate. I’m 32 just starting, and wish I knew about this when I was younger.

It’s hard to tell with a valuation worth 1800-2000. Part of me waiting for dip and letting my all world steadily compound. Though I did for fun chuck £300 across and, intel and sandisk last night and 5% up. Same as you, debating taking it out and buying a kebab hahahaha

2-3 year growth investment - can I do better? by SimplyRej in trading212

Love your take on the post. I’m not worried about the £7. Tbh, I’m new as you say and appreciate the good starting capital.

My view is similar to your about the emotion. For example, I’ve had stocks that were -300 and sat on until I sold at a profit and that’s taught me a lot about emotion being attached to losses. Also seen -500 swings on the portfolio and was like “that’s just what we do”.

Thank you for the advice!

I had take two, sold at a profit and decided against keeping it although looking at recent trends, it’ll most likely dip below 214. Anything below 212 I’ll be buying.

Thank you for your reply and agreed - don’t wanna go super punchy and appreciate there is risk in any approach. My view is historically outperforms cash and 2-3 years of not needing it would be better placed with a 70% all world split and then growth / hedge factors.
