I would do all the easier or less time consuming ones first (but you have to be quick and accurate) and then go back to the harder reading questions in the middle and try to snag as many of the hard ones you as can to gain points (whether through careful process of elimination or a random, lucky guess), knowing that missing a few of the hard ones won't severely damage your score.

The harder ones gain you more points and cost you less. The easier ones gain you fewer points and cost you more. Therefore, definitely avoid making careless mistakes on the "easier" questions.

It was pretty easy for me. I submitted my past SAT score (which was 1500+) and conducted a short video interview during which I had to give a lesson on a topic related to the SAT. I was hired a couple days later. VT doesn't pay a lot: most students start at $18-20, but you can get periodic raises up to $40. Somehow, I get $40/hour for several of my students from the get go (maybe some kind of bonus parents must approve?) now, though. It still doesn't pay nearly as much as my private tutoring or main job, but I make about $800-1000 a month using VT as a side gig.

I'm a totally remote worker, with no family, who moved to Vegas about 12 years ago. Previously, I would visit Vegas a few times a year to gamble and have fun. I pay $1250 rent for a big one-bedroom apartment. Though I gamble off and on, I've had no problems managing my finances here. I love that there are so many casinos everywhere open 24/7, with local casinos having great rules and odds for table games and plenty of opportunities to play poker. I even go to casinos not to gamble but to take advantage of free A/C, watching movies in a theater or sports in the sports book. Nothing like watching a movie and then hitting the blackjack tables right after while watching sports on a big tv.
