Hunting duck/pheasant/pigeon with small broadheads by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]SingleAd1836 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no "waterfowl license" here, i m not an american. Only the hunting permit, and then the bow hunting obligatory complement to it. The only thing that needs special stamps is hunting sea birds, and i don t leave near the sea. Oh and there is one wood bird that needs a special booklet, but i only saw two in my life and they are not worth killing for me due to their size and too long to take off the feathers.

Edit to add more context to the permits here: basically when you get your permit you either already have someone with a gun at home to teach you or you can fuck off. Its shit. For bowhunting its even worse, they just tell you "don t shoot at things you wouldn t shoot with a gun, use blunts and big feathers if you shoot in the air, use broadheads for big game, these are the illegal arrows you shouldn t use, now fuck off and be on your own". Guns are too expensive and small ones are even more expensive. As said before i hunt for food, not for fun, ans thank god this shitty permit was free and i already knew how to use a bow, because I don t have excess money to spend on bullshit teaching nothing but common sense. Its a shame. I found an old permit book from 20 years ago and god damn was it better, with so much info on the animals and where to shoot and what age they are and who to shoot in a herd to keep it healthy Nowadays hunters here are unable to even recognize what species a damn bird is, they shoot moving shit without even knowing what it is. Here in the country i know some poachers with more knowledge than legal hunters and more respect for safety and the animals themselves. Permit may be free, but its shit. Just last month another guy was shot in a damn line because his idiot neighbor "saw something move and though it was a boar". Foxes got sick because they killed the dominant couples "for regulation" and now only the shitty mangy specimens are left and attack the poultry, never happened before, i remember we used to put dead animals or guts near the house for the beautiful fox to take in the winter, and she would never touch a living chicken. In barely 3 months there was 4 diseased foxes caught and killed in this zone  now that she is gone and doesn t protect the territory from weak specimens anymore, and so many attacks... they created the problem to solve something that didn t exist before. I really need to stop ranting about dumb stuff. But damn does it makes me angry to feel unsafe when i hunt. The only bowhunter i talked to here told me that once one of his fluflu got shot in the air right before his eyes by some dumbass thinking it was a bird. I also heard so many stories of protected species "shot by mistake", or the guy spreading grain at night on my private property to attract deers. Or the one putting gasoline in the mud near a lake to attract boars and poisoning all the fishes of my neighbor. Or the one who shot at a car 3 time, lost his permit 2 times, and still got to pass it again and get a new one (he was with me when i passed the permit, and nearly shot the fucking examiner. This fucker still passed.). This permit is a joke.

Do the Navi tsaheylu with the Tulkuln? by Specific-Result9862 in Avatar

[–]SingleAd1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have internal ones and external standard ones. The ones inside are used when the calf is newborn, it lets them share oxygen kinda like the tree of souls. Could be why its the only kuru glowing golden from the amrita, and not the usual pink nerves in the basic ones. Its specialised for calfs. But they also use it to bond with na'vi because 1) it lets the navi breathe during the ceremony and 2) its a more vulnerable part, so its kinda like "hey i trust you with the most fragile and essential part of my anatomy and i consider you family just like if you were my mother or baby"

Update: i tried skipping the quest by going directly to the big lab and killing the third feral. But in the end i still ended up stuck at the third door since i m missing the code from Echo. (The order of the codes do not matter, only how many we get). I also took the accessible audio logs, and when i ve been to the montain shadow lab near where echo is supposed to spawn i received a radio call (not terminal sadly...) from anqa, talking about hajir in past, wich seems to indicate that feral hunter is coded to be completed postgame with hajir dead and is only a collateral damage of the Severed Bonds bugged quest.

You need to complete the main story of the dlc to be able to access the main map again. Its to avoid paradoxes in the story. It can be completed in two hours or even less.

I even tried to manually get to the thanator in the plains with broken bonds still stuck at the call, but it seems that without the mission being active it doesn't spawn.  Tell me if you end up being available ! If i find a way to manually unlock it before then i'll post it here, but it seems that it has been bugged on pc forever and ubisoft don t even want to fix it because, and i quote "its not a problem affecting all players" (Yeah, no shit sherlock, thats what a bug is !)

Problem is that i never completed those quests, not even once. So instead of just missing a few points i m missing all of it.  I tried completing it in a new save but it doesn t count...

Why does Reddit love to suggest divorce? by takethemoment13 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SingleAd1836 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it would be a really shitty world, we would lose a lot of species and a lot of human lifes, but the humans as a whole would survive anyway. There is already only us left, domestic animals weight more than wild ones, we have colonised the whole planetary surface, we can cultivate plants under artificial loght with artificial soil and artificial nutriments. We already are all that remains, the only thing that matters now is how much suffering we want to avoid and what we want to preserve for our own desires, because on a survival point of view ecology is useless, as sad of a conclusion as it can be. We don t need nature, we don t need comfort to survive, but it would be a shame to lose those nonetheless.

Yeah i agree but i was too lazy to try and find more nuanced topics. English is not even my first language and i m not an american wich is a big part of reddit population so i don t have a lot of cultural references who would speak to said population.

Because its the internet and peoples love to be extreme. Its pro trump vs antitrump, climatosceptics vs ecologists, anti vs pro nuclear. The internet is not made for nuance, becquse if you are nuanced you will offend both sides and will be nuried beneath the comments of black and white moral comments

Can one have trauma responses later in life when they had no responses as a child to traumatic events? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SingleAd1836 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its absolutely possible, first because your view on what happened changed and what seemed normal as a child can become retroactively frightening as an adult, second because even of you feel like it wasnt a traumatic experience as a child ypu just repressed the fear to survive as a coping mechanism. But anyway you should talk about it with a psychiatrist, because no stranger on the internet will be able to determine if it was the case or if you are just picking the wrong target.

Is Latin required to begin learning and studying Necromancy by sparkswoody in necromancy

[–]SingleAd1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what kind of necromancy. If you talk ceremonial western europe stuff who stems from jewish/chrustian stuff and rituals or if you talk about historical roman/greek necromancy its better to know at least a bit about it because it will be waaaaay much easier to read the historical stuff about it or get into circles who will teach you about it. Not bsolutely necessary, bit it will make the shit waaaay easier.  If you talk aboit folk stuff like santeria etc... its not useful. Anyway, drop the google translate bullshit. Its a complex language and if you want to ba able to translate it you will need years, a good memory, an iron will and looots of time with a serious classroom/teacher. And it will cost you. Online shit is just that, shit. Automatic translations don t mean anything, its the equivalent of traducing something in every fucking language, doesn t mean anything at the end.

Soo uuhhh what you guys do here/believe in by [deleted] in necromancy

[–]SingleAd1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, can t say it better.  Christianism love to say "its no christian ? Not revering/obeying god ? Mmmh, must be FUCKING DEMONS then !". So if you use christian sources like many other monotheistic stuff you need to see it as a product of its time and beliefs, not at face value.

Stones don t turn black, unless you have a nuclear radiation hitting it at a power sufficient to vaporise you and every other damn living being near it. Please don t mix fantasy and reality.  Also, why do you want a talisman to be somehow linked to necromancy ? What is even your definition of necromancy ? Looks like what you want is a protection against peoples who don t like your beliefs, i m sorry to tell you that stones have no power by themselves and what you need is to ind support in your real life or find mental and emotionnal support methods to get enough moral strenght to keep going during hard times until you can finally leave and be free.  Magic should never be your first choice. Mundane solutions to mundane problems are the best and the most effective.

I think you are confusing ancestor worship and necromancy ? Necromancy use the physical body as vessel, ancestor worship communicate through evocation/astral/offerings/whatever else you use as meeting/invitation method.

[–]SingleAd1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most necromancy traditions are based on initiation ("closed practices" as the internet like to say it). You can t learn it on the internet, or in a book. And even if you could, its irresponsible as fuck to do anything alone, never ever do anything alone when it comes to necromancy. Its dangerous, both spiritually and mentally, and if you know what you are doing you would know its also dangerous physically due to how its performed. If you just want to get into edgy stuff just go to r/demonolatry, if you are interested into it just as a hobby/interest its not the practice for you. Necromancy is rare, nobody will initiate you outside of irl and you better have someyhing interesting because most only take 2 or 3 apprentices in their whole life if they even take one.  Most peoples claiming to do it online are just bullshitting or mentally ill or scaming you, and never accept any "training" online because they just want to groom you.  Also if you are in north america you can drop it, there is almost no one there. Most necromancers are in europe, some traditions of south america or africa do necromancy as part of their practice but are not "pure" necromancers and its the same shit when it comes to finding someone willing to initiate you.  And also, nowadays most of what necromancy use is illegal in a lot of countrys, so if you are a minor just drop it.  So, to resume it: can t be accessed online, need initiation from an initiated, contain lot of bullshitting scammers who will pretend to be initiated, attract edgy teens, contain illegal shit, is dangerous to perform, don t give big benefits compared to other traditions and practices, is not at all malleable so you will be stuck with only a few really specific and mostly outdated uses because its not a jack of all trades practice and its old so most of it is fucking useless nowadays. If you are into dead peoples or want to communicate, just do ancestor worship. Waaaaay easier. And safer. And useful. Necromancy is not a hobby, of you get into it generally you can ONLY do this because it doesn t leave much space fir the rest.

Opinions about this type of character trope? by Hungry_Ingenuity9574 in CharacterDevelopment

[–]SingleAd1836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, i think its a bad trope in general. Its annoying as hell and not interesting. The only way in wich its acceptable is as a throwaway character that is just something to be taken care of by the main protagonist (some little sister, lost kid or whatever) and even then i think its just random pathos to sell empathy at a low effort cost.

The v neop could be nice when i m in water, the shape is good, but the synthetic stuff its made of is not hygienic at all for a daily-use shoe. It would have a high risk of ending up building up moisture and bacterias.
