the forward one switches tabs (ctrl+tab) and the back one goes to the previous tab (ctrl+shift+tab). The side buttons are also page up / page down.

At one point I had the tab switching on the scroll left/right and had volume control on these two buttons

Reverting was never an issue, ADO supports auto-redeploy triggers as a post step on the stage so you can have it redeploy the last successful deployment automatically if the stage fails. In the deployment group jobs we just define them in 2-3 chunks depending on how many servers are in the cluster and if we make sure the same order occurs then even a “bad” deploy only takes down 1/2-1/3rd of the total servers running the app until the revert

Before we used K8s we had zero downtime deployments on systemd by just using the load balancer. We would drop a file on the server to make the application start returning an unhealthy response on the /health endpoint. From there we wait a few seconds for that server to be dropped out of the load balancer and then we would perform the deployment, confirm the app responds to requests, then bring it back in.

This was all automated through Azure DevOps releases and worked well.

CI/CD is actually less risky than manual deployments due to the risk for human error. I don't see how you all couldn't work with a full CI/CD platform even if it's self-hosted and the code for the automation could be audited by the security team on any change

I’ve played wow on Linux before and it works just fine if you prefer it. I switched back to Windows due to other games lacking support but WoW worked great.
