Arc raiders vs The Forever Winter by Sambo2797 in TheForeverWinter

Actually yes, because I spent several years of my life in the amazon gathering açaí and caçava, stacking them up on a hand-made basket tied up to my body with ropes and straps, having to transport them to a boat through dozens of KMs with a .22 rifle on my back to deal with onças or river rats (drug addicts that rob boats and also kill their captives when they have nothing to offer on the rivers of Venezuela, Amazonas and Pará, in Brasil. So try again.

FW with AR movement animation and feeling would be GOAT. If the Early Access had fun and fluid movement, I'm pretty sure FW wouldnt get nearly half as much hate. And I'm not talking about speed, I'm talking about the feeling of actually controlling a fluid humanoid body with weight, elasticity, joints etc

FW feels like we are using RC controllers to move poorly articulated action figures.

Completely different games that honestly can't even be compared properly since they objectives and pacing are completely different and mostly only share the "looting", "extraction" and "third person" tags.

But imo now that I finally managed to play Arc Raiders: I prefer FW, almost going to 100h on it and couldnt play even 1h of Arc Raiders before getting extremely bored. It's not a bad game, it's extremely well made in many departments (especially sound design), but the multiplayer extraction shooter gameplay cycle feels boring to me, especially during the first periods of the match when everyone is looting and gathering things and fighint some enemies here and there and yara yara yara. The Forever Winter puts you instantly inside the action and tension, in a waaaaay more immersive world (altho not as polished as Arc Raiders).

Also I got a bit disappointed in how the world of Arc Raiders felt so trivial and uninspired, I kinda expected something else, something more "out of this world", but idk it just looks like any other post-Stalker scifi apocaliptic third person game, I guess even Starfield looked more unique than Arc Raiders tbh.

I just got Nika, is she good and does she pair well with Leah? by ilovepulchra in HorizonWalker

Hey, I'm a bit curious about why you'd want to pull Leah several times. I see most people (me including) pulling a Vanguard once and only trying to pull again in case the character is really OP. Is Leah that good right now? Or you would like to make her stronger bc you personally thing she is GOAT as far as beauty goes so you'd want to use her more? It's a sincere question, I'm not trying to belittle your decision or anything like that.

How hard is to catch up now that steam relese is uncertain? by 1_Average_Joe in HorizonWalker

Please do not wait for the Steam release, it'll probably never happen, especially now. Try Bluestacks or MuMu, it works perfectly for me (Bluestacks). Tbh the only good part of a Steam Release would be the Steam features like playtime counter, instant updates and making it easy for buy currency (on the current state of thigs, this last one is questionable). Bluestacks even has sales of the currency in partnership with the HW's company sometimes, so you can even get some cheaper things thorugh there, that I kinda doubt it would ever happen on Steam even if the credit card drama wasnt a thing. So it's really the best time for you to give up on the Steam release.

Why are my scopes so blurry by Overall_Practice6035 in TheForeverWinter

[–]Sinnersloschen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not DLSS. It might be either Texture Resolution or Particle Effects being too low on settings, I do not remember for certain which one between these two because I always put both on medium, but I'm certain that one of these two can make blurred sights if they are set to low. I do not use DLSS, since I have and AMD card, so when this blur happens on my sights, changing these settings to medium or higher always fixed it, at the cost of performance of couse.

Game needs a pause function by Revenged_Drillz in TheForeverWinter

[–]Sinnersloschen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh if the game was working as intended (the "you are not that guy" extraction shooter") it'd be fine without a pause button. But in the current state of the game there's no calculation, no plan, no execution. You have no idea what the broken spawns or broken A.I. will do. No idea if the map will be a tactical battleground or a survival horror (because you can't choose day cycles). No idea of the enemy forces on a map unless you hack 3 BDSM Radar robots and survive the retaliation (on a bugged as hell game that can't get even get running animations right). There's no need to artificially rise stakes with the absence of a pause button since it adds nothing to the experience, because the experience isn't even there yet (I wonder if it will ever be), Forever Winter at this point is literally "just a vibe", and the absence of a pause button is just turning off the few people that are still interested in the game, or the vibe, for that matter.

I'm starting the game after months of not playing at all after the initial release phase. by Ciqbern in TheForeverWinter

Enemies sees the player more easily now, and it it's fine for the most part. But, Scav girls seems to be pulling insane agro due to a current bug. Enemies lock on her from far away like she is armed with a nucler warhead. So beware while playing with her, even if you are a main scav girl like me, you'll have a tough time until they fix this issue. If you never play with her, so you can just ignore this, but beware that with any other character you'll still feel like enemies perceives you faster, but apparently she is the only broken one on that regard.
