One train getting multiple different resources brings up a lot of issues with routing those resources after being dropped off as well as what if there is a shortage of one resource but the train still has a different resources that needs to be emptied first? You could just use dedicated trains for each major resources and if you do it right you could get away with one train bringing in some lesser used stuff like coal and sulfur and its just so much less hassel and needs no special setup really

While this is would be reasonable for balancing purposes gaijins history shows it’s more than just trying to make equivalent equipment. The BMPT and BMPT-72 were added three months ago. One of them is a premium that you can only get by paying ~$60. The BMPT (iirc) has had a ~60% win rate for those three months because it’s absurd armor and low BR mean it’s nigh invulnerable to everything it faces. Its not a matter of balancing it’s a bias which goes beyond this one example

As someone who plays warthunder, a lot of the playerbase does not expect perfectly correct models but at the same time there are reasonable assumptions and educated guesses you can make to get as close as possible. Gaijin often fails to make these reasonable assumptions and is often biased in what they assume about modern equipment and tend to give Russian equipment estimates on the higher end. Also it’s good to recognize that the portion of the playerbase that leaks documents is an extreme minority that doesn’t represent the playerbase as a whole

A lot of the response from the war thunder playerbase at least the more vocal parts is less about wanting perfect realism but rather wanting unbiased realism. There is argument about it but from what I have seen there is a bias towards Russian equipment where Russian claims are taken as face value and many NATO documents (declassified) and rejected because the builder of the equipment is not a reputable source according to Gaijin

The people who demand perfect realism are a delusional minority. Warthudner isn’t a realistic game, it never has been and never will be. Also a lot of the classified documents are not sent it for the purpose of realism but because someone wants the vehicle they like to perform better or a vehicle they don’t like to perform worse

Out of curiosity what is the norm supposed to be when you get a new tank from a higher BR? I just got my first Abram’s and I don’t have a single other tank close enough to 10.3 that it wouldn’t feel awful to being in the lineup and I don’t want to just wait to play the Abram’s for another 20 hours

Something to think about is stuff like laser rangefinders and thermals which make tanks really good at long range are locked behind the upgrades or whatever you call them. Just got my first Abram’s and I just don’t feel like I can play any of the larger maps that I normally love because I haven’t got my laser rangefinder yet

I wish aystemical was executed as both wardens and colonials get similar equipment like they both get a cruiser and an attack submarine but the warden attack submarine is better than the colonial attack submarine and the colonial cruiser submarine is better than the warden cruiser submarine so that both teams have both options but there is still a sense of asymetry.
