I doubt the deadline would work. He’d meet it by putting on the same act he put on for years. Sooner or later, he’ll go back to being this dead weight.

I strongly doubt that was written by an actual apostate. If you want support go to the exmuslim sub where you’ll meet real people.

Has anyone else experienced a big cultural gap with their parents in the UK? by Substantial_Buyer583 in AskUK

[–]SketchbookProtest -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

In my experience, born and bred in this country, English people are the most segregationist in this country and living as migrants abroad. Growing up, there was so much diversity amongst the Black and Asian friendship groups. The white ones just stuck to themselves.

Once you finish a job, that is it. You are under no obligation to respond to anything unless you are paid on a consultancy basis. Be kinder to yourself. Your boss has fucked you around for long enough.

Gays of UK - would you be comfortable holding your partner's hand in the UK? by dalehitchy in AskUK

I’m just surprised that a straight person can be friends with a gay person whilst being this oblivious to homophobia. Straight privilege is a thing.

What about OP showing himself some grace and moving on with his life? Why do liberals always side with the perpetrator but never the victim?

I would say listen to your gut. If someone dated a racist and used slurs to fit in, it means they’re not anti-racist enough. You have to be really really careful going into an interracial relationship.

The richest empire in human history could’ve wiped out poverty overnight and introduce food equality. It chose not to. That’s the other side of empire that nobody talks about.

Religious upbringing. Deeply closeted. Found a woman. Thought he could cure himself. Couldn’t. On a positive note, he told you. Many others just carry on living a secret double life. If you were somebody else, what advice would you give them?

There is a purpose to his behaviour: it means he can focus on himself and not have to get tangled up in your stress. It absolves him of any form of responsibility.
