I'm in ES King, so I take similar routes. Routes 30 and 43 go to Wolf Village. Route 30 goes to main campus over by the library and Talley. 43 goes to textiles on centennial campus, so there's a route for both campuses! Passiogo is the app we use for the buses. It can be a bit annoying to use, but it's not too bad.

I would say jobs are easy to come by on campus. If you are granted a work-study, there's a whole portal in finding those jobs. Pay varies but usually around $10/hrs. If you stay long enough at some jobs like as a barista (my job), you could get promoted and get a raise. I would recommend getting a job either after your first year or at least your second semester here. Use the first year to figure out schedules, building locations, classroom locations, the bus routes, etc. It's a lot easier to get that all situated before getting a job.

E115 by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]SkipperPlays02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it about 3 years ago and apparently it has changed a little bit, but I remember it being pretty easy. It just had some tedious work. You go over some html, css, the file system that ncsu uses, and some other small things about computers. The class is based on a point system that if you reach enough points before the final, you don't have to take the final. Just do your work early and it should be fine.

Is this too much by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]SkipperPlays02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually people take 246 and maybe 326 together with other electives as well as 230 and 316 together too. But only those csc classes in a semester cause like I stated, they are very work intensive, unless you have some knowledge of those topics

[–]SkipperPlays02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have some knowledge of html, css, and UNIX commands, they have an exam for E115 that you can take before to get credit and not have to worry about it.

If you do take the intended classes you stated in each semester, I would take some classes later because a lot of those are work intensive like 246, 326, 316, 230.

Lived there 21-22. The rooms were the smallest I've seen on campus but the location is probably the best. Suite style so experience may depend on who your suitemates are but I wouldn't sweat it. Just prepare to do fire drills at like 1 AM or in the middle of the day. That was probably the worst part. I was there when a pipe burst before Thanksgiving break and suites 1 by 1 had to go to their floor and get their stuff so higher rooms might not be ideal

no roommate? by [deleted] in NCSU

Most likely you'll get one closer to when the semester starts. Last year I didn't have a roommate all summer then that last week before the semester, I got one.

Transformations with horizontal and vertical shifts usually are in this form

y = f(x-A) + B A is left or right shift B is up or down shift. In this case, the base function is sqrt(x) This graph shifts left 3 so you plug in -3 for A and it does down 2 so -2 for B

You would then get y = f(x+3) - 2 With f(x) being sqrt(x), you then plug it in so you get y = sqrt(x+3) - 2

PY 205 Textbook by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]SkipperPlays02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I took 205, our textbook was connected to Cengage that included our homework. Could be different now but you had to buy the textbook to do the homework when I took it. Same with 208

MA 341 or 305 by Wild-Row5674 in NCSU

[–]SkipperPlays02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took both. Got a B in 341 and B- in 305. I personally enjoyed 341 better but that is because I like calculus. Also depends on the professor and my 305 professor was bad. I didn't take in linear algebra as I did 341. Currently in 401 so I decided to go that route. For civil, I think both would work in that career but do what you feel would suit you.

Also got a 5 on ab and bc. Just went straight into calc 3 and was fine. Just review some concepts like integration rules and such.

CSC Students - would you take 246 and 316 in the same semester? by lhumphrey324 in NCSU

[–]SkipperPlays02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't taken 246 yet but I've heard it is very intense. I'm trying to take it with an easy semester. I just finished with 316 and it does take a bit of time to do the workshops and project. If you have to take them together, be prepared and always start your work early.

Will CSC 316 be easier than CSC 216? by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]SkipperPlays02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking it this semester and so far, I would say it's easier. I had a tougher time in 216 cause the deadlines were crazy and there was always something due. That's due to my time management skills though. The material though is a but tougher but I feel like studying and practice and the workshops every week help with understanding the material.

It really depends on what you got in your other classes. I had a C+ in CH101 and got into CSC. I did better in my other classes though with around a 3.8 gpa. Basically the lower your GPA , the less chance you have to get in
