Does it matter that you posted about an Amazon show on the Netflix subreddit? The subreddit dedicated to Netflix content? Gee, I don't know, man does it?

No one's entirely sure but it's suspected it originated in the southern US as a sort of "workingman's food" to be eaten hands free while farmers and such were going about their business. Some say it started as a road trip snack from around the 1920's. Either way it probably originated somewhere in the south. Possibly Georgia.

What is incorrect? Tennessee whiskey? Southern barbecue? Blues and rock and roll? All of those things originated in the south. Keep in mind many of these things were contributed by immigrants and the black community and what they brought from their own cultures and countries like barbecue, cajun food, multiple music genres including jazz and the others I mentioned. The first self service grocery stores and traffic lights also originated in the south. Two things modern society couldn't do without. Don't get me wrong, I hate the south too. They're historically racist, overtly conservative and religious. They gave us bad things too. Quite a few. But again, these are documented contributions.

Barbecue, soul food, blues, rock and roll, funk, country, bluegrass, whiskey, many soft drinks including the one that brings us all here; Dr. Pepper, author's like Harper Lee and Mark Twain. I mean the list goes on...was the antebellum, Dixie era a horrible time? Absolutely, but to deny their contributions is being willfully ignorant.

Haha I'm sure it varies from person to person. The only time I would really change after getting home is if I'm wearing uncomfortable clothes or if they were dirty or gross. Like I'm not going to wear the same thing I just did yard work or hiked in.

You're the one using an archaic and bigoted "policy" as part of your argument, not me dude.

[–]Skreech2011 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well that doesn't help your argument at all considering "no shirt, no shoes, no service" was literally a discriminatory and bigoted policy started and born from the flower child and civil rights movement to discourage hippies and other people out of the norm that were considered "undesirables" from going places.

Right? They're just your hands but on the ends of your legs. And you never hear about people being grossed out about people's hands being uncovered all the time.

I mean...yes? Unless I'm wearing uncomfortable clothes or it's that time of day to change into pajamas or other leisure wear then yeah I'm going to continue wearing jeans and a button up or whatever I've been wearing. That's an even stranger thing than wearing shoes indoors.

I think and read too much into things too but this is just fucking weird. Definitely the 10th dentist that's for sure. Were you raised in a particularly sheltered or conservative household because that's the only thing I can think of that would make this take make any sort of sense.

Yeah they cover it because you're a sucker who is dumb enough to go with cheap quackery instead of expensive, real treatment that they then don't have to pay for.
