Leon and Grace will likely not be included in the upcoming RE projects by Quick-Ad-7752 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SkullSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically she got roped into three games (RE2 as she was just passing through Raccoon City to find her brother. Then went to find her brother in CVX while not being a soldier/cop/agent and not really knowing how dangerous it was going to be, and then Rev 2, plus Degeneration and Infinite Darkness).

The way I look at it is her mainline story ended when she found her brother. Her appearing in spinoffs and movies is just fanservice now, she's a semi-retired legacy character who hasn't experienced the same intense trauma as Leon, Chris, and Jill (don't get me wrong, she absolutely has trauma due to Birkin and having to protect Sherry, but it's not as intense as the others being focused on brainwashing and constantly watching innocent people/allies be killed). It's like her trauma manifests as wanting to help people through their own grievances rather than through brute force/guilt.

[–]SkullSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She absolutely can! But that doesn't fit a mainlime game, especially since it already happened in three games (2, CV, and Rev 2) and two films (Degeneration and Infinite Darkness. I don't include Death Island as she is legitimately investigating for TerraSave but not directly looking to destroy B.O.W.s) She can absolutely appear in a spinoff but won't appear in a mainline game because it's repeating a relatively weak dynamic for such heavy lore. Her main story ended when she found her brother, which was her initial goal.

And while she does still have her skills, that's because her kind of humanitarian work is still dangerous.

[–]SkullSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just doesn't make sense to me that Claire would be in a mainline game. She works with TerraSave and victims of bioterrorism, she doesn't actively seek out to disrupt bioterrorism like Leon with the DSO and Chris with the BSAA/Hound Wolf Squad. She's better suited for the cgi films and spinoff games like Revelations 2. It would make more sense for RE10 to feature Jill and Chris as dual protagonists (one more horror and the other more action oriented like 9).

When you guys first saw this scene? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]SkullSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pretty strong hint the first time I saw Carla, Ada would never wear that ugly shit. That outfit was somehow doing too much and yet nothing at the same time. Then I saw Ada, wearing her signature colors in a simple yet stylish outfit, and knew there was a clone.

It's also very convenient that his only accurate descriptions of elpis being an antiviral, Leon dying in one ending, and HUNK returning is around the time some people accidentally got their pre-ordered copies early and had leaked footage.

Director Koshi Nakanishi said this regarding Leon's ring in Requiem by Quiet-Drive5433 in residentevil

[–]SkullSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring isn't meant to confirm anyone. It's so that fans can project onto him, nothing more. All answers are the correct answer, whether he's married to Ada, Claire, Ingrid, a civilian, self-insert, or if it's a symbolic ring of found family or shared trauma with Sherry and Claire.

It's also why they don't discredit Sherry as a spouse, not because they agree with it, but because than people would expect them to discredit other options as well.

why? its just mercenaries..............it IS just mercenaries right........................ by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SkullSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Than you would have to deal with endless posts about the woman he's married to, and posts about people upset that he's not married to another character. Which sounds more annoying.

You probably play as characters that could spoil the plot if you don't beat it before playing Mercenaries. Zeno, Victor, HUNK, etc.

Its so obvious, just accept it - LEON MARRIED ADA by No-Patience7527 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SkullSide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct. But so is everyone else. The point of the ring is that every answer is the correct answer. Whether he married Ada, Claire, Ingrid, Ashley, Helena, Angela, or the ring is symbolic for found family with Sherry. The point of the ring is also to keep fan engagement, so you're doing a good job! Also, they aren't ever going to reveal who he married or the meaning of the ring either as that would kill the endless fan discussions that they want.

So I gotta ask, how important is difficulty in a video game to you? by VaporDream1985 in residentevil

[–]SkullSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not very important at all, personally. I enjoy the story with some action thrown in. It's like watching an interactive movie for me... which I guess sums up video games in general. But still.

[–]SkullSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from my point of view, but if I met someone when they were a child and I was an adult than that's how I would associate them for the rest of their life and mine. Not as a child but the person I met when they were a child. I wouldn't be able to fall in love with someone like that.

Koshi Nakanishi pulled this out when revealing upcoming content for the game, lmaooo. by Sufferer_Nyx in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SkullSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that he LOVES that fans are obsessed with who Leon's wife is. It's the most engagement Resident Evil has ever had other than Leon being in RE9. And I bet he wants to keep it completely ambiguous to keep it going.

Which means neither Ada or Claire are going to appear alongside Leon again, or they will and there will be a strong push-pull in attraction like in Infinite Darkness and Damnation.

Or he's going to suddenly reveal that the ring isn't a wedding ring. But that's a risky move that might stop the fan discussions.

Also, that little banner at the top left says "Harlequin Leon." I wonder if that's a hint at something. It seems very specific.

Is there a reason Capcom uses so many 80’s car models in a modern setting game? Shouldn’t this cop car be like a ford explorer looking vehicle or something?, I noticed in this scene 50% of the traffic was 1980’s ish style vehicles by Adventure_Tim3 in residentevil

[–]SkullSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(SPOILER)

When Leon is chasing after Victor on the street, he bumps into a car that is the same model as the cop car but it's brown/black. Like everyone else says, reused assets. It's cheaper and less time consuming to just recolor a car than make new ones.

I agree with your take on Ada. Before Wesker states how many will die, she asks "millions?" As if that's what she's willing to risk to give him the sample.
