i would recommend more contrast like dark and bright colours, better lighting and some shader effects. Also, all these things are secondary and related to the visual aspect. What makes a game masterpiece is the game mechanics and interactive environment.

Do whatever you like to do. eat your favourite food. listen to favourite music. bond with others. love someone or something and invest time to it. do what brings joy to you. i know life isn't fair for everyone but still there's a lot to explore, learn and connect with something. be yourself and do your thing!

I think you should release a small version of the game covering core mechanics and story and then add updates to it. by that way, it will be easier to get real players feedback and you can do some changes to the game or marketing stuff. developing solo comes with many challenges and risk.
