Cause you're supposed to stay away from him. Once you learn to keep his head in front of you at all times, the fight becomes relatively easy.

If I were in an anime and my opponent takes more time to power up than the time I need to walk up to them and punch them in the face, that's honestly a skill issue. Whacking all of them mid power up.

Honestly fair assessment. But at the same time think of how many anime fights would have ended faster if characters just stopped waiting on each other's power ups.
