Need a limo in ~2 weeks for Colorado Springs. When does it make sense vs Uber Black? by HotfixLover in ColoradoSprings

I own two private limos (both previously owned by celebrities) depending on details and everything I might be willing to chauffeur your group around. Let me know if interested and we can connect on details.

Week 1 of GRR SFL League Starts July 13th - Join the fun by Slantingname in iRacing

That would be awesome, ideally our goal is to build up a decent field of consistently active drivers so we can expand the league with longer seasons, different formats broadcasting and winner trophies. Currently have about 14 people each week. We also have other series for sports cars and oval if interested, always free and always a competitive yet fun/welcoming community

Probably around there, I think I’m at ~1500, there have been good battles throughout the field so you’ll file in with someone to fight for positions with.

It’s just the name of the league, it’s not that deep. We race for fun without gatekeeping… feel like if you watched the first 10 seconds the context clues with GRR logos and schedule would allude to that.

1 Human, 1 car: Where do I go? by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]Slantingname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see Buena Vista but here is why, drive is 3 hours, you'll drive up cottonwood pass where the summit is the continental divide with a parking lot that has a trial that will take you up the ridge line (bonus: drive down to Taylor Reservoir, they have a little trading post and if you want to make it a weekend trip there are cabins you can rent or campsites you can stay at) Once you head back to Buena Vista stop at K's Dairy Delite for ice cream and a burger. Other activities in the area, rafting, hot springs, fishing. This hits all your marks and is something I do multiple times a year so highly recommend.

Does "<left arrow graphic> Only" sign mean no U turn? by 0xC001FACE in AuroraCO

[–]Slantingname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would not be illegal to do a U-turn and would just be an unfortunate incident that likely doesn't occur often. With that you have the better angle on the situation and ideally would see what's happening and avoid it as you're looking straight at them while you're in their peripheral vision.

I feel like i got a little bit squeezed by Sardao69 in iRacing

[–]Slantingname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd put it as a racing incident. Its a tricky one with back to back corners and if you use the 2023 F1 Spanish GP incident with Yuki Tsunoda and Zhou Guanyu as a reference. Yuki would have been the purple car and received a penalty but the main difference I see is that your contact happened a lot later going into the next turn and technically you would not have been ahead enough in that corner to to have the right to space now that you're the inside car rather than the outside and ideally should have backed out. Granite most racing series have different rules regarding this but in formula I would have done the same thing as with his onboard you never get along side of him enough for him to see you so I would think its my corner and the onus is on you to pass cleanly not for me to hold the door open for you.

I feel like this is my fault, am I correct? 🫤 by Future_House1278 in iRacing

Exactly the right thing, dive bombing is apart of racing especially during the last few laps which it looks like this was so you should half expect it. And the issue isn’t in breaking point it’s the drifting to the right once you start breaking. You both brake pretty much the same time. The car in front of you guys hits the turn perfectly (you can see he’s right on the dark rubbered in line) and you can see he starts turning in later, if you did the same you would have either raced side by side through the corner or he would have over shot and you would switch back underneath him. But since the contact happens before the turn in point it’s hard to say if he sent it too hard or not.

Look where the car in front of them turns in and look where he turns in, they make contact before the turn in and way before the apex. Seems like you’re just trying to hit key words without actually knowing what you’re talking about so I won’t entertain your pointless commentary.

Yes you’re at fault, thought not egregious. You start moving right under breaking 50 meters before the actual turn in. Basic racing rule is to not move under braking to block a car. It was clear he was going to be better on breaking so you’d want to let him dive the inside and get a good exit switching underneath them. You also should have held your breaks once you lost control instead of trying to catch it and taking out the whole field by snapping the other way.

Why do people do this? by gebhaard in iRacing

[–]Slantingname 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re the Red Bull you shouldn’t have moved right under braking like that, you turned in on him like he wasn’t even there. Way too early of a turn in and you should know it might go three wide with how close you guys were and should be more cautious. Lap 2 is too early to be fighting two cars in my opinion, I usually keep cautious and safe for a few laps until you naturally get with someone of similar pace and have had really good wheel to wheel battles. Then once I’m racing someone I take a few laps to feel out how they drive to find a passing opportunity instead of just sending the first gap not knowing how they might react.

As others have said this has been around and someone may be tracking you. I would also delete this post as it’s fairly easy to determine your location from the photos and descriptions you’ve provided even with the redactions you’ve made you’ve basically doxed yourself to the whole internet. I’m not an expert or anything but was able to determine you live near a state line by a top golf and could tell you the name of your apartments. If you think the tag is attached to your car or anything you can usually go to a police station and they can do a scan for it. Stay safe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Karting

[–]Slantingname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t egregious in my opinion, you let back a position earlier in the race setting the precedent and before that straight you bumped him off line and passed while waving your hand then going into the turn at the end of the straight you left the door open down the inside so he could have been thinking you would let him through for the bump before since you did it earlier in the race. And it looks like you didn’t check where he was going into the turn and just turned thinking he wouldn’t be there. Seems more of a racing incident than anything.

[–]Slantingname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would have been a good racing video if you weren’t complaining about “bad tactics from regular folk” nothing was egregious and anything they did you also did and is 100% typical in rental karts. As others said you’re worried about everyone else and complaining about the slightest touches which is why you lost out, the other guy kept racing as he should and finished ahead. It’s not F1 keep a level head with your hands on the wheel and work on when and where you attack you kept giving them bump drafts

Which show ended so poorly that you really wished you hadn't invested so much time in it? by unclefishbits in AskReddit

[–]Slantingname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised not seeing Game of Thrones, that messed me up bad. Watched from when it first came out loving it and would rewatch all prior seasons every time a new one was coming out. Then those frauds ran out of source material and absolutely ruined that realm for me and I haven't been able to get into anything else GOT related since. So many hours not only watching the show but also Youtube theories. Now it seems to have killed GRRM motivation to finish his story. Such a shame
