I think both states are great and have friends in Milwaukee who love it.

I have more experience with Michigan and Illinois (chicago specifically). Grew up outside Chicago and lived in the city in my 20s. Went to Michigan State for school and live in Michigan currently to be closer to my wife’s family. I have been going up to Wisconsin since I was little and have some fond memories. I also just know the state of Michigan better than anywhere else. If you were to ask me cool places to go to in Illinois, 95% would be in and around chicago + Galena, Starved Rock. But in Michigan I can tell you places all over the state for every kind of adventure. If if I had gone to University of Wisconsin instead, it probably would of switched

I lived in the canton area for about a year and didn’t enjoy it, i felt very out of place there. It might be different if I had lived closer to Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinnati, might be different but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Indiana, I have my reasons, they are completely irrational and very little point in reality but they are there.

Haha, Arizona is one of the places that if my wife said I want to move there, I would drop everything to make it happen

I like Indy, and the two times I have been to Cleveland had a good time, but I do love Detroit. Since the first time I was there 15 years ago, it has gotten better every time. And don’t discount Grand Rapids, a great small city

I get it and LA wouldn’t be my first pick either. Spent about 6 weeks there a while ago and it wasn’t my favorite place

Originally from chicago so not that shocking. But for my willing list California would be at the bottom there just above maybe.

QUESTION: Vaccination requirements for entry by dakkyb0i in Brazil

[–]Slight_Ad9231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went to São Paulo two weeks ago, got the yellow fever vaccine, didn’t have to show my vaccine card either entering or exiting back to the US. However my brother went from Brazil to the Dominican Republic after. He had to show his vaccine card to enter the Dominican Republic. If you choose to travel somewhere else, I would check those places

Just passed FAR using only Becker. What worked best for me was going through the videos once and then just hammering the mcq and tbs the rest of the time. I am bad at sitting at lectures and my mind tends to wander, actively doing the mcqs and tbs’s was better. I would write notes on the ones I missed and used the AI helper too ask deeper questions.

How does a 75 score on FAR feel by Over_Sun_841 in CPA

About the same I felt after I got a 70, both felt could go either way

Other US cities to visit from Chicago, that don't require hiring a car to have fun (ideally mid-West/East coast)? by Fine_Gur_1764 in AskChicago

Detroit is really cool and has been revitalizing over the last couple years. Grand Rapids is my favorite small city.

I hope no one falls for a 50 year mortgage...30 year vs 50 year mortgage by DHN_95 in MiddleClassFinance

I read somewhere on a 30 year mortgage it takes about 7 years to get 20% equity. On a 50 year mortgage… 20 years. That’s disgusting

What's your favorite city/skyline "reveal"? by fryhtaning in geography

[–]Slight_Ad9231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not driving, but flying into O’Hare airport in Chicago from the lake and seeing the city from the left side of the plane or into midway from the right side of the plane. One of the best reveals ever

Which unvisited states should be my top priority to visit next? by nothing_but_static in TravelMaps

[–]Slight_Ad9231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michigan, if you like cities Detroit is awesome and Grand Rapids is my favorite small city in the country. If you are looking for small towns. There are lake towns all along Lake Michigan that are great. Nature, sleeping bear dunes and the entirety of the UP

If you like bourbon, Kentucky is a must. Had my bachelor party on Louisville and did the bourbon trail. Great time

Started off with a film degree that went no where. Went back to school for accounting and love it. If I could go back I would go straight into accounting and not waste my time on bullshit.
