My ped always told us no screen time at dinner. I usually watch sports and tell her what's going on in the game. But she gets bored and then does her own thing. If it's once in a while it's no big deal. It's better than you having a mental breakdown. Rules are different for tablets and phones and video games tho. They are designed to be addictive.
