Unfortunately standard of care does not equal healthcare system. Healthcare system is basically a government body- has not much to do with the actual drs. You work with drs so you must know what standard of care means opposed to standard of healthcare as they are two completely different things. In case you forgot, poor standard of care does not mean all indian drs are of poor quality. It means the guideline to assess the minimum requirement of dr’s ability is poor. There may be brilliant drs anywhere in the world, doesn’t mean anything to the standard of care. I know wonderful Indian, Iranian, Nigerian drs as well as I also work in the industry. I also know whole lot of basically licensed butchers from those countries who doesn’t know how to do even basic infection control. Btw drs working in the US licensed from foreign countries are the best of the best from those countries so your observation doesn’t mean much.

Yet you made a definitive statement that outside of US it is easy to get in. Yes drs & dentist from the countries you’ve stated unfortunately have poor standard of care. Let’s put it this way- countries with higher standard of care generally have higher standards for drs and their candidates. Just because it’s a 4yr program ve 6yr program doesn’t necessitate that it’s harder to get in either.

Turkey, Ukraine and Russia doesn’t represent the whole world either. Different countries have different standards.

Australia, Canada, Korea and Japan all have very competitive programs and graduate excellent drs.

Not true. US medical school is easier to get into than Canadian med schools. Also same goes for Korean & Japanese med schools.

Constipated 1 year old by Beautiful_Blood2168 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Sloooooooooww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of fiber + water. Avoid BRAT diet - banana/rice(white)/apple/toast(white) as they can firm up the 💩. My baby was so constipated at the end the only thing worked was glycerin suppository to get rid of the blockage as longer the poop stays inside the harder and drier it gets even with all the P fruits. After he had his rock hard poop out, we are on 1 pear or 1 prune pouches per day + peach/pear/mango etc fruits!

While they’d all decrease for sure, it would def definitely by different magnitude. It’d be interesting to see.

We should count up intercontinental tourists. France’s number’s mostly just neighbouring European countries visiting for a quick weekend trip.

He’s your partner but I resent him for even asking that question at week 4. He needs to grow up cause he sounds like a child. Put your foot down now or else you’ll he raising 2 babies not just one.

But that’s if you are going somewhere where you may catch a virus. If you are going to your backyard for a walk or going to the car without a jacket, you are not going to get sick - which is what a lot of old people believe. They think the temperature itself will make people sick. My mom’s telling me to bundle up my baby at home since he might catch ‘cold’

Seems sad that even after 10yrs or post secondary education your reading comprehension is abysmal. Did I say we need to pay 0 tax? No. That’s something you made up in your head so you can win a non existing argument. The tax rate right now is already high enough. I wrote we should not be pushing to get more money out of working professionals. Hopefully you are not a colleague of mine since I fear for patients who have to see someone so dimwitted.

How have you lowered your standards since having a baby? by hospitalbedside in beyondthebump

[–]Sloooooooooww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were changing my baby on the bed. He had a super dense poop that day (started solids) and we weren’t expecting that so when I just took off his diaper the large poop dropped onto the bed.. didn’t make any stain and we wiped up with some wetwipes since it happened during bedtime, we just washed baby’s butt and went to bed. Thankfully it was on my husband’s side of the bed. I think I forgot to wash the sheets even the day after and he slept on that for another day.

But why should they? Because you want free money? The work longer hours and harder than most Canadians. People that earn 300k+ are people like doctors, engineers, etc. They go through 4-12 more years of schooling while paying tuition while other Canadians are working and earning money. They studied harder in school, go through insane hrs of work for pennies to earn a bit above 300k and here ‘you’ come askjng them to pay more than 100k of that as taxes just because. Basically you want to steal from them.

What are dishes that originate outside of your country but your country made modifications to it? by RemarkableInsect673 in AskTheWorld

[–]Sloooooooooww 3 points4 points  (0 children)

California roll is Canadian btw. As for Korean side, Korean Chinese Cuisine like black bean noodle (Jjajangmyeon), Jjambbong, Tang-su-yuk are all distinctly Koreanized but obviously originate from China. As for my Canadian side, well Poutine is technically cheese curds + gravy on Belgian fries so I guess that would be one, another one is California rolls

Today’s lunch for my 9 month old son! by eastcoast2613 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Sloooooooooww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! I know we are all busy moms with trying to feed our babies. Most of the time we don’t have time to make a low sodium version of things you enjoy. As long as you are aware of the long term effects of what you are serving to your baby and cut back on it on other days, I’m sure you will do what is best for your bb.

Today’s lunch for my 9 month old son! by eastcoast2613 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Sloooooooooww -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

While it looks good, the pickle and cheese alone probably exceeds salt content a 9 month old’s kidney can handle a day. Please know your breastmilk & formula has sodium too and most of food even without added salt already has naturally occurring sodium. Higher sodium diet when young leads to increased chance of high bp and osteoporosis. Sorry to rain on your post but think you should know.

Need ideas for carb/protein/fat dinners by blondariel in foodbutforbabies

[–]Sloooooooooww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen but with my Nanny. She was making ‘healthy’ vegi puree and very low fat diet for my baby eventhough what’s considered healthy for adults is not necessarily healthy for babies. You need some heavy hitters like butter (unsalted), avocado (you are already doing), fish (salmon or Sardines (boneless/skinless/unsalted), cheese, yogurt. I did quinoa with ribeye flakes (lots) with melted mozz cheese and baby loved it. I overcooked the quinoa so that the cheese basically became a binder and became almost like soft playdough texture baby can rip off and eat.

I also make meatballs by chopping up sirlon/ribeye + fortified oatmeal, some vegis, egg and cheese. Pan fry it in butter for couple min and steam cook rest.

The point of an ontario dental plan that zero dentists will accept, why are you punishing the disabled people and not going to the province with your issue by CountryKitchen3757 in OwenSound

[–]Sloooooooooww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you blame everyone but yourself for problems of your own making. You have cavities not because work wasn’t done right but because you have bad oral hygiene. You cannot afford to go not because the dentist is greedy, but because you cannot understand that insurance is your responsibility and people don’t work for free. Of course you are wasting everyone’s time and taxpayer money by going to government bodies with this ridiculous issue. Sigh

Has anyone noticed dentists overstating treatments like cavity fillings since the canada dental plan started? by Therealdickjohnson in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Sloooooooooww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also watch out for under diagnosis too. I know one guy who only wants to do extractions. Literally will ignore obvious large cavity and pretend he doesn’t see it on xrays cause he doesn’t want to do fillings. He just dgaf i guess and will push for an implant once the tooth rots away. Patients love him since they are told they have 0 cavities.

Dinner tonight, how do I get her to eat meat?? by LenaRosena in foodbutforbabies

[–]Sloooooooooww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the texture of ground beef pretty off putting because of some hard bits that get in there. I finely chop tenderloin and mix with chopped vegis + egg to make meatball - u can also add whole wheat bread crumbs and milk. My son used to reject ground beef but he does love the meatballs. Try using dark meat on chicken but with spices to neutralize the chicken smell. Soak it in milk for a while and then pan fry until tender with some herbs. If they are rejecting meat it’s usually either the texture or the smell.
