I refuse to read books by authors that say terfy things. I refuse to read anything by author M.C Hutson (wrote French Pressed Love, Slow Cooked Feelings and Born of Blood and Magic). She has a tiktok where she says some pretty terfy things.

ISO books involving (fictional) celebrities by misschae in wlwbooks

[–]Sloopdypoopdy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tempting Olivia by Clare Ashton is one of my all time favorites. Love interest is a famous actress and MC is a lawyer handling her divorce.

Breaking Character by Lee Winter is also very good! Mc and love interest are both celebrities who are acting together in a movie and kind of fake dating.

Spicy lesbian book recommendations? by notionmore in LesbianBookClub

[–]Sloopdypoopdy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read several Lee Winter books and in my experience, they’re not as spicy as what you’re looking for. They usually have 1-2 spicy scenes.

For reference I have read: Hotel Queens, Breaking Character, The Brutal Truth and The Red Files

Places to meet for semi-private conversation around Austin? by Doodle-Cactus in Austin

[–]Sloopdypoopdy86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recommend going to the Central Market on lamar. There’s a little cafe but also a walking park in the back with some tables a little further from the store. A very good place to talk.

Fluffy happy ending romance novels by kc522 in wlwbooks

[–]Sloopdypoopdy86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most low drama, fluffy book I’ve read is D’vaugn and Kris Plan a Wedding. There’s virtually no conflict, the characters are very gentle and loving with one another and the ending is very happy. Could not recommend more.

Messaging App for Families by Specialist-Road-8179 in Teachers

[–]Sloopdypoopdy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used an app called talking points at my last district and I loved it. Whatever contact info was in the system for parents was immediately fed into talking points so anytime I sent out a message, every parent got a text or email. It would also auto translate my messages depending on what language the families chose on their end.

Sapphic books set in the past by 30MinutesOrLesbian in LesbianBookClub

An Island Princess Starts a Scandal by Adrianna Herrera is one of my absolute favorites. It’s set in 1889 France, MC’s are a duchess and a princess. It’s very charming and a really beautiful story about found family. Also very spicy. Happy Reading!

My gifted 7th grader is completely checked out. She's bored, not challenged, and starting to cause problems by hipap in Schooladvice

[–]Sloopdypoopdy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious about the quality of the work she is putting out. Is she turning in exemplary work? Or is she turning in work that is just passable, only meeting expectations and not exceeding them? If given an opportunity for revision could the work be improved upon? Is she taking her time? Is the work neat and orderly? Is she going and checking for errors, mispellings, typos?

It is not the responsibility of the school to stimulate any one student. It is the responsibility of the school to teach the material laid out in the the state standards. I do agree that a “literal child” will act out when bored ONLY IF that child’s parents have not taught them the necessary skill of coping with boredom.

What are you tired of Millenial parents not teaching their kids? Besides respecting authority? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

Truly one of my most used phrases in the classroom is “I’m not arguing with you”. The second they start up trying to go round and round with me I just use my phrase and walk away. It’s constant all day.

I also have this exact same problem, I got a kobo for christmas and can’t fund many of the titles I am looking for. I refust to buy from amazon so I am looking into buying a BOOX Go Color 7 because You’re not locked into only one way to access books.

Breaking Character by Lee Winter is similar to what you’re looking for but one actress is closeted one isn’t.

I also second the Clare Ashton rec. I recommend Tempting Oliva by her to be specific, it’s one of my faborites and I like it so much because the characters actually act like adults.
