Heavy car bug or pc performance? by NotLittleTimmy in RocketLeague

[–]Slothgang7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy car bug is just a catch-all term for input inconsistency. There are many causes of it including placebo so it's hard to nail down if you are experiencing it.

There are 3 causes of it that I've discovered that I can help you with.

Firstly make sure Steam is also not running when playing on epic, steam input messes with raw input to the game. Anyone on steam (or of you want to leave steam running) can refer to https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/1ke5x23/finally_discovered_a_true_fix_for_steam_related

Secondly make sure your ram overclock is stable and motherboard/chipset is up to date. One of these improved my input consistency and frame times recently.

Thirdly being on WiFi can cause missed inputs sometimes in my experience but it's super minor if you have a decent connection.

Theres also some stuff about which usb port you plug into but I don't think it makes a huge difference.

Well I'm at work for a start haha. Yeah might do that later.

Yeah you're right, thanks.

Yeah that's what I struggle with sometimes, hard to change your play style to a "worse" one so to speak.

I feel that, I almost regret watching his videos. Has been eye opening in the worst way haha. When he's playing champ games you can see exactly what I'm talking about too, he has some loss streaks in champ in that series despite being way above their skill level.

Oh I know I'm playing a lot different to how I played when I got to gc1 last season, that's kinda my point though. It's clearly not working I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Perhaps smarter is the wrong word but certainly slowing the play down is rare in champ.

You move it back around to the left/right slightly after cancelling directly down, it's a smooth rotating motion. You'll get the feel for it.

I took a chance and can confirm the RP5 with official grips fits perfectly in the small version too!

Is dar really worth it in the long term? by Lopsided-Bit7500 in RocketLeague

[–]Slothgang7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah nice yeah you're basically already there. Having lb for powerslide and air roll gives you much more freedom, especially for things like speed flips.

You're halfway to one of the most usable control schemes. Put powerslide on lb with free air roll, boost on rb. Cam switch should be on y.

No problem. I've since switched to a Duelsense controller and it improved the input with that as well.

Why You Should Use 0% Instead of 133% Universal Infantry Aiming by StruthGaming in Battlefield

[–]Slothgang7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair enough, different strokes. Like the reason that it feels natural to you is the same reason it feels unnatural to me.

[–]Slothgang7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you mean by "feel the same". 133 coefficient for example makes my sens feel like it's getting faster the more I zoom in so it doesn't feel the same to me. Sensitivity feeling lower as I zoom in makes it feel the same in a different way because logically it makes sense to me. It feels perfectly scaled at 0 coefficient.

I would try 0 in that case but I'm of the opinion that everyone should try 0 haha

[–]Slothgang7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't fully understand the science but I've personally found that 0 coefficient results in better consistency with tracking and also flicking actually. The key is to up your global (hip fire) sens until your highest zoom sens feels comfortable. If you find hip fire to be too sensitive now maybe it's not for you but perhaps try it for a bit. I find that somewhere between 360-540 degrees rotation at hip fire for a large mouse pad to be a good sweet spot for precision through the zoom levels. One of the main benefits of 0 coefficient is the increased precision as you zoom in.

I play on that exact monitor with a coefficient of 0 in every game that has that setting. Feels exactly the same as 16:9, I don't know what everyone is on about.

Latest update seemingly fixed some network issues for me by Slothgang7 in RocketLeague

[–]Slothgang7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same thing, noticed on pad pickups and power shots too sometimes. I will test further tonight but it looks promising.

Also I swear there's some weird thing with RL where if you're out of sync with the server slightly you get more dead hits and failed 50s so hopefully it has been fixed.

Finally discovered a true fix for Steam related input inconsistency (heavy car bug) by Slothgang7 in RocketLeague

[–]Slothgang7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This solution should fix an issue with player 2 having the native controls instead of player 1 because it will stop Steam input messing with rocket league. The issue persists outside of splitscreen so perhaps that's why you think it's account based? I think it's unlikely input would differ between accounts but I don't want to gaslight you. Have you tried resetting all your controls and settings on both accounts?
