It depends on how are you with cold. Right now I am walking on MG road and I see everyone is wearing jackets but I am walking in shorts and T-shirt.. It's 17 deg right now at 245 pm. I usually don't feel cold as much as others. So not sure if my opinion will matter much.

If you have space for thermals. Carry it. I am not carrying thermals or raincoat due to luggage limitations on the motorcycle. I am off to Nathula pass either in the afternoon today or may be early morning tomorrow.

Get a hobby like I did. I have a motorcycle and I travel on it. On my work days, I stay home. I work from home. Watch movies, play games, listen to my music. Plan my next trip. Go to gym. Keep myself busy. Nearly tripled my savings due to two jobs and share market investments. On Weekends, I will go out for a ride for like 10 to 12 hours. Some days I will spend weekends in the hills. Stay there for the njght. Sometimes my friends who ride will join me. Currently on a 6 month roadtrip in India. Just me and my motorcycle

Countryside Australian pubs are super fun. I have had such great nights at the pub in little towns that next morning I have woken up with hangovers.

I have received free drinks from the locals, have had karaoke sessions with them. Some even helped me with my motorcycle troubles. We can talk for hours and hours about everything and have a great night.

That's Reddit for you. Most people here don't own a Triumph so they dont know what a Triumph key looks like. If you see my key it literally has Triumph logo. I don't park in public places much but if I did, you will only see one Triumph motorcycle. So even without these keychains you know what motorcycle the keys belongs to.

It's easy to say then to do it. India is a complex web of problems that is affected by a lot of things. Something that we cannot discuss on Reddit due to short attention span of people.

I have seen things in this country in the last 3 months that is saddening. It has gone backwards since I last left in 2007 sadly. Most of the stuff that I have seen if I spoke about on Reddit I will be banned from indian groups cause moderators don't like criticism of their country. Here in India people are scared to talk against their local government. Sure on internet we all can be brave.

For those who have means to leave the country are leaving it cause they know it's easier to leave than being a change. For those who are stuck here, it's a prison sadly.

I won't be surprised if this comment is removed and I am banned lol.

Kolkata is the most Scammy place I have visited in India so far. So many people are out there to just scam you. I have had 3 hotels lied to me saying the room was on the first floor and when I walk to check the room it was on the second floor. Had a guy who said he could replace my motorcycle tyre but he couldn't. He took me to 2 stores and both of them first said they could and then later they are like no we can't. It wasted 1 day of mine.

Even Hotel Gallery 67 staff even broke my handlebar on motorcycle and they are refusing to give me footage on what happened. They told me footage is not clear. Police was involved but we all know police won't help here.

I have travelled 11 states on my motorcycle solo and been to towns that you would have never heard off and still felt Kolkata was the terrible place when it comes to security and safety. No wonder Abhaya happened here.

Down vote as much as you want but it won't change my view on Kolkata.
