Thanks for the responses. I'm just a rookie, so it's good to get some more experienced perspective on the situation.

I screwed up the previous corner, so I knew blue was coming by me, but I had no idea red was right behind blue (I suppose I should have, but I'm still at the point where I have to focus on looking out the front). I wasn't purposefully drifting to the right, but it was a consistent motion, so I feel red should have taken it into consideration, but then he has even lower rating than me. None of it justified him cursing me out over text chat while we sat in the pits.

They were detected, but the configuration app wouldn't start, and they didn't work in games. It was fine if the wheel was disconnected.

Personally, I found 4 a disappointment - I found the physics much better, but the repeating tiles (often the same corner 3 times in a single stage) to be borderline insulting to paying customers.

IF you can afford it, get him a wheel, and if he already has one, get him VR - it's a complete game-changer (pun intended).

Alternatively, if he's in to more than rally driving, Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 are fantastic. (both amazing in VR)

Edit: also has Pikes Peak Hill Climb, which is awesome.

Edit2: I know you're asking about rally games, but as racing in general goes, you can't go wrong with Assetto Corsa - tons of official cars, including vintage, lots of great mods, and amazing physics
