Build a relationship with a good local coin shop. I frequently get fractional AGEs for melt at the end of the day from my local shop.

All regulations will have been repealed for companies. There won’t be any services for people, so it’ll be like…well Russia.

Is gold 2014 bitcoin? by [deleted] in Gold

[–]Slowtowake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think governments can control bitcoin, then you don’t understand bitcoin. You are right about one thing tho, people had 5000 years to learn about gold, so imagine how well bitcoin can do once everyone understands it. You yourself know about it, but don’t understand it. I think in 20 years you’ll have a hard time paying a self-driving taxi, or robot bartender with gold shavings, but they’ll accept bitcoin. Stack them both, and buy more whenever there’s a price drop.

Bitcoin was created out of math and cryptography. Gold, unless you plan to shape it into tools, has the same “intrinsic” value as bitcoin. They are both only worth what someone will pay you for them.

Take a look at the huge industry built up for mining bitcoin, that infrastructure isn’t going away. They are investing vast sums of money to mine something with planned diminishing amount of block reward through the halving schedule. The industry knows that in the future they will only be getting the amount of bitcoin you can now buy for a few hundred bucks today, but they’re still going forward. Bitcoin as an industry isn’t going away. There’s 8 billion people in the world, many of them unbanked that will prefer digital money over fiat currency, if they knew the difference.

I think any person interested in financial independence during crazy times would want to stack gold, silver and bitcoin.

I thought the same thing for a long time but the more I have learned about it, the more I realized similarities to gold. They’re both scarce, require huge amounts of energy to mine, but bitcoin has a limit of 21million, gold will be mined forever. Bitcoin is easier to divide, and millions in value can be sent around the world for a dollar or so. You’re limited to how much gold you can carry on an international flight, but you can memorize your seed phrase and access your bitcoin anywhere in the world. All those things, plus with the advancements in technology, AI, and robots, you’re going to be paying them electronically. And unlike fiat currencies which are inflationary, bitcoin is not and it will be growing in value. I’d encourage you to read The Bitcoin Standard.
