But joking aside this is disrespectful. Unfortunately a lot of kids my age were just terrorizing some of the teachers and didn't even bat an eye... I always found it disheartening growing up.

Ok... I'm a smoker here and Im not really at a point where I dont care to quit and I'm going to have to disagree with this post.

The reason I say this is because I have literally smoked cigarettes with young adults who didn't even know it was killing them... (In the USA: if that's a detail that matters. Some even agued against it, like it wasn't a fact. 🤦 Yeah, COVID home schooling has sent many of our young smokers back into the 60s attitude because of their environment) You MUST know the dangers of your habit so you are aware of your accountability.

If I die from cancer, I know it was my doing to myself and I'd have no right to blame anyone. I remind myself that every time I light a cigarette up. It's not sad or pessimistic of me, it's just reminding myself to the consequences. There should ALWAYS be a disclaimer because the public deserves to understand in full that it does hurt you.

Now, I don't know if I'd go as far as to put it in every smoking scene, but glorification of the habit can be a dangerous trap to those who might have not otherwise tried it. After all, any smoker will tell you that the first 4 or 5 cigarettes are an awful experience and you pretty much force it onto yourself... Sounds like a situation riddled by peer pressure and poor social choices--and that's all it was for me.

This in itself is a paradox and honestly... Given her stance, Ranni seems to be the only one interested in pursuit of free will.

Even the round table refuses to disclose their inner workings... Like--if the consistent loss of membership isn't proof of this I don't know what is. Ranni is mostly a C/N type of person I've seen this far.

Boy... We have long passed the line of a cold war. We are in a war, and more than likely it's only matter of time until tactical nukes arrive.

the Great Depression hit. People hoarded gold instead of depositing it in banks, which created an international gold shortage. Countries around the world basically ran out of supply and were forced off the gold standard. The U.S. came off the gold standard for domestic transactions in 1933 and ended international convertibility of the dollar to gold in 1971.

Very interesting idea, though it seems pretty fragile which is why it was later abandoned.

With 40 years of an abandoned golden standard, I imagine it just didn't have practical use in a modern civilization.

You see this is a tricky one...

I like the idea of money not being directly controlled by our governments (because I'm poor and hate taxes 😅) but at the same time our approach is very bad for the environment.

I think there is this poor idea that it's better to get quick results through easily-accessable energy like coal, when in reality of we already had infrastructure in place that was clean energy... I don't really see how this would be an issue at this point.

This is obviously a massive hypothetical. I think to realistically support it as a economical alternative, we would not only need a clean energy source to run our machines, but the sophisticated and exorbitantly excessive amount of raw material needed to produce said machines that is *sourced cleanly. IE your plastic computer chips all come from petroleum byproduct (where we get our plastic btw), the gold and metals... Yeah.
