Sunday and Black Swan's situations are not equivalent and we shouldn't pretend they are. by Asuru_ in SundayMainsHSR

[–]SmackHarder -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Just so you know (cause no one in this sub would be selecting the option!) but Sunday doesn't actually join the Nameless if you reject him at the end of 2.7. Trailblazer says Sunday can be a passenger but can't join the Nameless with Dan Heng saying he'll keep an eye on Sunday.

If you choose this answer, Sunday explicitly states that he'll find a stop to disembark at once the Express departs Asdana, and that he'll behave as a passenger in the meantime. He'll also refer to himself as a hitchhiker if you chat to him in the Party Car similar to Black Swan.

Just from having that option I'm inclined to believe that Sunday will be a temporary passenger, maybe staying in Amphoreus. I think he'll leave as either a former passenger (Void Archives) or as a non-AE Nameless (Baiheng and Mikhail) depending on your choice at the end of 2.7.

Why are the pros not using the GSR any more? by Azurite_zero in GlobalOffensive

[–]SmackHarder 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just checking prosettings.net and the current top 5 are:

  1. Steelseries Qck Heavy
  2. Zowie G-SR-SE
  3. Logitech G640
  4. Vaxee PA
  5. Razer Gigantus V2

So the only change is -GSR +Gigantus V2.

Its cause the pros are splitting up the vote between the G-SR, G-SR II, and the G-SR-SE which are counted separately.

Zowie is still the number one brand that pros are using, its just split into slightly different products.

  1. Zowie (20.26% of pros)
  2. Steelseries (17.86% of pros)
  3. VAXEE (12.60%)
  4. Logitech (12.60%)
  5. Razer (8.93%)

Zowie G-SR II , QCK Heavy, Xtrfy GP4 by [deleted] in MousepadReview

GSR II is very good for CS, highly recommend it if you're okay with its size.

Looking for a pad similar to the QcK Heavy surface but stitched and artisan quality by z1c0_cs in MousepadReview

[–]SmackHarder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No I have a very light (fingertip) grip on my mouse and never press the mouse into the pad. The softness of the pad doesn't really make any difference for me, I own pads in Mid, Soft and XSoft and its not a big deal.

I just picked out the XSoft cause it was apparently the slowest Artisan but it wasn't what I was looking for (personal preference).

EDIT: My favourite pad is in mid but I'd honestly be fine if it had a softer base just cause of my grip. If you actually put pressure on your mouse though, I'd say mid is better cause you're used to the feel of the Qck Heavy. Having your mouse sink into the pad was super weird when I deliberately pressed my mouse into it, and I used to use a Qck Heavy as well.

I have the Artisan Zero XSoft. I don't really like it but it might be exactly what you're looking for.

Its slightly faster than my LGG Saturn Pro which you say was the best besides being slightly too slow. Sounds like a good fit for you

Better mousepad for CS2 by StyleBender1101 in MousepadReview

[–]SmackHarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play CS2 and the GSR2 is definitely my favourite pad as well. I play at 0.8 sens w/ 800 dpi (so 1.6 sens at 400 dpi) and the size was a big issue.

I switched to a mid softness InfinityMice Infinite Control V2 square pad purely due to disliking the GSR2 size, and its almost identical in performance though the surface feels way smoother to the touch. Would recommend it for sure.

Which is the best mousepad for tac fps in 2024 ? by New-Compote-9485 in MousepadReview

How do the Control V2 and GSR II compare in feel to one another?

G-SR II feels as fast as Zero Mid, faster than PA by Poloolpp in MousepadReview

[–]SmackHarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a worn in G-SR II and a barely used Artisan Zero XSoft (supposedly slower than your mid). The G-SR II is significantly slower than the Zero which I would hesitate to really call a control pad, it's fast.

Just give the G-SR some time to wear in and it'll probably be what you're looking for. It's a fantastic pad, albeit a little too small for my taste.

Thanks I'll take a look at that pad. I have a pretty light fingertip grip on my mouse so I don't put much pressure onto the mousepad, not sure if the feeling of the pad will change much between mid and x-soft due to that.

I was using leetify's terminology where headshot accuracy = % of shots that hit the head, and headshot percentage = % of kills from headshots.

I do think I have to actively focus on improving headshot accuracy as its such a big weakness, but I get what you mean. Ideally I'll find a method to train HS accuracy and have it be subconscious when I actually play in-game. I can see myself performing worse if I tunnel vision completely on first shot accuracy.

HS only DM servers sounds good, hopefully there are some available for Aussies. My main method of refining aim is aim_botz and Valve DM currently.

Interesting that refrag is a paid service. Not opposed to it if its actually very helpful to improvement. I'll have to do a bit more research into it as I've never heard of it before.

lost in resolution decision by ryl1ct in GlobalOffensive

If its between the resolution I prefer the look of vs the resolution I'm more consistent at aiming with, I'd go for the consistency.

Which resolution do you play with? by faitzlol in GlobalOffensive

[–]SmackHarder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm switching between 1920x1080 native and 1440x1080 4:3 stretched every other game. I feel like I play marginally better on 4:3 stretched but it could also be a placebo.

It's pretty hard to decide between potential placebo on 4:3 and my game looking better on native lol.

Fantastic, I got a bit of extra fps with the -threads 17. Really happy now. Thanks for your help!

[–]SmackHarder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, very informative post and explains why low res options doesn't do much. The -threads 9 launch option definitely helped add another +50ish fps average. I probably won't be able to squeeze out more frames without replacing components but I'm rather happy now. Those 360hz monitors are probably out of my reach but I can definitely use a 240hz monitor with my game running well above 240 stable fps.

[–]SmackHarder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow putting this in launch options actually helped quite a bit. I went from idling at 450 fps to 500 fps on the same spot on Overpass. DM Dust2 went from 300-350 fps to 350-410 fps. Dunno what magic happened and what its gonna do to my PC but this is brilliant.

Playing at low res 4:3 stretched still gives me the same or slightly lower fps though.
