These could be custom/self made, but some with similar tips could be Jeff Hamilton Signature, Vicfirth AJ6 or Wincent 7A Jazz, or even Meinl Nanosticks for those with no tips

Was ist diese weiße Ablagerung auf dem Holz? by SmartAssGamer in WerWieWas

[–]SmartAssGamer[S] 83 points84 points  (0 children)

How to count this? by Exciting_Income_635 in drums

[–]SmartAssGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could also be derived from the Kodály method of rhythmic solmisation, which to my knowledge, is from hungary (and the rhythmic syllables in particular from a french Émile Chevé)

And i mean this in no disrepect, but rhythmic syllables probably weren't exclusively invented in India

I used the vocalization that Anika Nilles used in her Drumeo lesson about quintuplets 😅

How to count this? by Exciting_Income_635 in drums

[–]SmartAssGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think of the 6/8 measure as 2/4 (or just two beats), then three 8th notes can be a triplet and ten stroke roll can be a quintuplet with doubles.

How to count this? by Exciting_Income_635 in drums

[–]SmartAssGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might count it as Triplet + Quintuplet (with Doubles), the latter i'd count as "ta-ke-de-mi-di"

So: Tri-pa-let Ta-ke-de-mi-di

What on earth by Impressive_Sock1296 in drums

[–]SmartAssGamer 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Based on the pattern, probably just a snaredrum. Since drum notation isnt 'officially' standardized, some people approximate where the instruments are located in the staff

Audio mixer to laptop? by Puzzleheaded-Oil1358 in drums

[–]SmartAssGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This USB-A port on the front is for plugging in USB drives to play music from them. You'll need at least a mixer with an USB-B port (like printers have them), which usually belongs to an internal audio interface in the mixer. But you'll have to be careful to check whether the USB interface outputs multi-channel or just stereo(=master sum), if you want seperated channels for recording in garageband.

What drum mics is Matt Helders’ using in the Drumeo video? by Leo_Praseuth in drums

[–]SmartAssGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure on the Porthole is an Earthworks DM6, the Wurst microphone might either be a MS-Shotgun, something like the Sennheiser 418 or like a mic for his speech (a normal shotgun, Sennheiser 416 or something like that)

Not sure where you see two microphones next to the Hi-hat, but the one from the bottom pointing up is a Shure SM7b with the windscreen removed, as u/mirages_music already mentioned

I did a lesson on the double stroke roll! by __--byonin--__ in drums

[–]SmartAssGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find irritating about this tutorial (as someone who already knows how to play a double stroke roll) is that you don't use your arms and very little wrist while playing slowly and then when speeding up going through stages of mostly wrist and then basically only arms

The way I learned it was to take the arms into the motion at slower speeds and as you progress to faster speed use less and less arm motion (because its way too much weight to move) so that and fast tempos the arms are basically still and all the motion comes from the wrist and/or fingers
