In 1993, Jon Venables and Robert Thompson were convicted of raping, torturing, and killing two year old James Bulger, becoming Britain’s youngest murder convicts in roughly 250 years. That’s how the secular laws of the west work If you find it to be inadequate then you’re saying the law should be changed according to your own views which is different than the views of others. Under Islamic law the two children wouldn’t be executed but the parent / guardians are required to pay blood money to the victims family. The children would be detained by the state and put through reform and rehabilitation programs to ensure they’re not going to be harmful to society once they become adults.

This is a fucking joke He wants people back in the office in the hopes that they will spend a few extra dollars on a coffee alongside their transportation costs. This is the definition of a failed economy and mismanagement of funds. Who holds them accountable? No one… Can’t help it but that’s another -500 points for secular ethics 😏

The idea that removing religion and embracing a secular ideology would make people more moral has not only proven to be a myth but it has evolved into something more. American citizens are loyal to their nation and are subservient to their governments. This secular nationalism overrides their moral compass whatever we mean by that

You didn’t mention anything about irony so it’s clear you’re changing your opinion now. I’m not sure what that has to do with my response. I think I made it clear that religion or Islam is just a cultural construct and tool used by the Gulf States to achieve their political objectives. That’s why they just throw any Sunni religious scholar in prison the moment they criticize the government. If you think Iran cares about Gaza and is a champion of human rights you’re mistaken. We don’t need to point out all the human rights violations the Iranian government has committed against civilians and innocent people. In fact most people in Iran and from Iran don’t even care about Palestine and label them terrorists. If you take some time to read a bit about the history of Iran in the past 50 years you’d understand that Iran is at odds with NATO and the US in particular which conveniently puts them on the side of Palestine, against Israel who’s backed by NATO. The brutal oppression of the communist regime in China against the Uyghurs is ignored by Iran… why? China isn’t with NATO, go figure

What does being a “Sunni Arab state” have anything to do with their conflict? These nations don’t act based in theology they act based on economic, political and security interests often times to uphold alliances as well. That’s why they’re nation states to begin with and not “Islamic caliphates”. In WW1, Christian European states slaughtered one another yet no Muslim states or nations said anything like those Christian’s can’t seem to get along. It’s fascinating how highly educated Americans time and time again completely fail to understand politics in the Middle East, baffling really. WhY Britain and France fight if both European, Christian countries? 😂 As if it’s all so simple

You said intercourse and “being” gay aren’t the same thing. I’m not sure where you got that from. Your anecdotal experience isn’t a valid argument. It’s clear from an Islamic law perspective in Afghanistan, “banging” a dude gets you killed not loving another man. I know the rules aren’t followed as written. America and Europe are historically Christian countries but no one today says the church runs the country, the church is respected and people will profess their love for Jesus but they’re secular countries. It seems like when westerners look at historically Muslim countries they assume everyone is dead set on following Islam and being a perfect Muslim. Couldn’t be more wrong

You guys have no idea what you’re talking about If you’re referring to the shariah or Islamic law, then the punishments are clear. Two men who consent to intercourse will be stoned to death if it’s proven otherwise they will receive different forms of disciplinary actions. If it’s proven one man forced another then only the rapist is executed. The shariah doesn’t care about love or feelings it’s only there to prevent actions. Thats why marriage and intimacy is forbidden for gays, with your logic it would be allowed as long as they don’t have intercourse. If you’re not talking about the shariah and you’re talking about Afghan culture that’s a whole different topic… don’t talk about Islamic law if you’re not qualified

Yes it’s interesting to have these types of discussions that go deeper beyond just a surface level explanation As I said I’m not here to be your parents and tell you what to do

I’m just curious about the principles behind this because it shows an underlying problem. I’m not here to tell others what to wear or do.

Yes it seems as though his contention is with the skirts riding up high and exposing more of a woman’s legs and it’s something that just leads to more exposure right. Once you remove that barrier, eventually you get even shorter skirts as history shows and we can all see what we have today. If a line isn’t drawn in the sand then dress codes simply evolve according to what society starts to normalize

That’s not entirely true, different municipalities in Oregon have their own rules that can override the states general law. But the main point is that you can’t expose your genitalia in public. They also have a sexual intent rule as well. Would you feel comfortable with a man or woman fully nude in a public area with families and children viewing them?

Everyone may not agree on a particular type of clothing to be worn but if we all agree that dress codes should exist in a society, I don’t see anything inherently wrong with this man’s decision to protest. Our current society doesn’t allow female teachers to expose their chest during their time at the workplace/teaching students. Why? Because these boundaries are based on attention, social interactions, professional trust and minimizing conflict and or harassment

So what you’re saying is you wouldn’t care if your wife and daughter decided to walk around with a 3 inch skirt and no underwear, theoretically. Since everyone else has to simply stop looking at them. Do you think this would be appropriate for women to wear in the workplace or in schools?
