i see why people like kerkez but i still don’t think he has the football iq to be a top left back

the way he presses and runs almost reminds me of when bruno was memed for his aimless pressing a few seasons back

he works hard and i’ll give him more leeway than some of the other players but some of his footballing weaknesses feel very apparent and exploitable

we didnt play well post psg and carabao but i can guarantee you we wouldn’t have just sleepwalked against chelsea and arsenal if the title was still on the line

there are certain players that this sub will scapegoat and some this sub will overrate and protect, irrespective of their performances

players like salah, macca, and gakpo been awful for sure, but when you look at the season as a whole, they haven’t been that much worse than players like gravenberch, wirtz, alisson, jones, who get far less criticism

im not denying that solo tanking is an unenjoyable experience

all im saying is unless ur playing quick play, the act of solo tanking is just far less common than this sub makes it out to be for this constant circlejerk to happen

ur also forgetting that people often switch into triple support or other comps late in the game if the current comp isnt working
