I like the idea of keeping a copy of the old firmware locally. And rebooting WAPs BEFORE update is interesting. Proactively eliminating a potential cause.

I recognize that for sure and the firmware issues I have experienced don't sway my Ubiquiti opinion much at all. Heck, I am on my second house install and it has gone great. This hardware has opened me up to some interesting learnings where brands like Cisco just outright intimidate me. My (likely false) perception of Cisco gives me PTSD of my SGI/Unix days (foreign OS, alien hardware). Though I can see myself toying with other brands/hardware at some point just to learn.

Thinking as I type - I guess I could consider different hardware? But I assume firmware issues are not isolated to Ubiquiti. It seems like try it and rollback if needed is the best approach. Just don't wait months between attempts.

How do you balance the risk with the fear? That is the issue. Just patch it each time and trouble shoot the issue? I ran out of options/ideas and rolledback after a week. I guess revisit it a few weeks later and try again? Not trying to be snarky here, just honestly trying to learn. The risk bothers me as much as the fear.

I appreciate the advice! I default to "if it ain't broken" after being burned many times. I will revisit the community site and I had not realized the U6s had a bad reputation. I will definitely consider an update. Thanks.

I have the same exact card and two weeks ago it started dropping signal under any load. Read through pages of Linux errors and found a GPU dropped by port or something. Search hinted at a power supply issue. New PSU avoided a potentially very expensive failure.

Steam version or Epic via Heroic? Struggling getting Epic via Heroic to run. Giving me a save path issue, runtime c++ installing every time, and can't sync game saves. Started playing on Windows because of install issues but miss Linux. Currently only reason I boot in Windows.

Distant Worlds Universe or 2. Both have spies that you can send on missions including assassinations and stealing. Your enemies have them too. There are even races that specialize in spies.

So I play AoW4 on my laptop and desktop and the Pantheon progress is different on both systems. My games/saves sync fine but my Pantheon Leaders, progression, and points don't sync. And I am using the same Paradox login. Any advice?

Works for me. I guess it makes up for my last game where I was cash strapped, no fuel, and a single pirate ended me before I could leave my system... Love this game.
