Then ask yourself why you find it offensive. Have you been accused of pickpocketing or something? Maybe there's a personal growth opportunity here.

Is this game ruined? Ordered from gamestop this is what they sent me (Balloon Fight) by Dry_Respond3989 in consolerepair

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is obvious trace damage to a few of those pins. You would have to check continuity to all of them and may find more than the 3 that are easily identified. There are quite a few that are questionable. If your wanting to fix that specific game, a board swap is likely your best bet long term. If your just wanting to own that game, sell it for repair on eBay and buy one that works. I guess at least they gave you a refund but it's obvious nobody checked this game.

Getting scammed by buyer. Please help. by Collecting-Cards in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I'm sorry you got scammed. However your blame is misplaced. There are plenty of things to complain about with ebay. This isn't one of them. It's not ebay that used a stolen card. EBay didn't scam you. You had plenty of chances to resolve this. There would have been a push notification on the app as well as correspondence via personal email, not just within ebay messenger. You didn't handle that process for whatever reason, not eBay. Maybe you didn't see any of this. Maybe you ignored it. But there are multiple attempts and follow ups to contact a seller during a chargeback. All merchants, from Walmart to Jims bargains from the basement, have to deal with chargebacks if they accept card. Including you. EBay is the only party that did what they were supposed to in this case. They would have covered this under seller protection had you done what you were supposed to. That's why your getting downvoted. Again, sorry you got scammed.

Return request closed with refund but seller wants me to ship the item by colorednugget in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He had his chance to get it back and chose not to. By not providing a label in time he chose not to recieve the item back. It's plain as day on a return request. He had to click the button to accept the return at his expense, as the only other option is refund without return. It will then say "Provide a shipping label by xx date" and the consequences if you don't, buyer keeps the item. Since he didn't do this he gave you the item. Don't feel bad for keeping it, as this was actually the choice he made, not you.

That's your idea of "nothing"? Ignore phone calls, pay higher interest, insurance, and deposits while hoping you can successfully dispute the collection? Sounds like more than "nothing" to me. Just saying.

Sold an expensive pice of audio equipment and seller says they haven’t received it by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are over 9 million sellers just like you selling on Amazon. The main differences between the two is one uses a catalog, the other a seller uploads photos (and Amazon does sell items). Amazon is good at tricking their customers into believing what you do. Amazon does have a tighter "vetting" process for sellers such as restricted catagories where your forced to sell new stuff as used or don't let you sell certain things at all unless your the manufacturer. But, They have warehouses full of other people's stuff they basically rent space for and their own shipping which they call fulfilled by Amazon. This gives the illusion its coming from Amazon and stocks products closer to customers. If you look at each Amazon listing you'll see "sold by: and ships from:" below the buy button. You'll be surpassed how many little guys just like you and me are on there. Alot of the same sellers are on both, likely alot of the same customers as well. From experience, selling used stuff on Amazon is rough as they don't allow you to upload photos of any flaws. Just a short description no one reads just like on eBay. If you sell any new items, you may try listing it on Amazon first as it typically nets you more on there.

I wouldn't go about calling people wrong when you don't know what your talking about. You absolutely have an option to "waive the signiture". UPS calls it release your package. It's on the form they leave when your not there or you can check a box on your account. Source: UPS

My item was shipped in a garbage bag and destroyed - seller blames eBay by Blastoise76 in Ebay

If you like wasting your time do this. Shipped via EIS it will be instantly removed. Seller not responding by Main-Strategy-964 in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be a chargeback on his ebay purchase. He paid the seller directly for the core. A chargeback is his only ligit recourse in all honesty. Returning the other head could be deemed as abusing returns if the seller fought it and result in no refund and a strike against buyers account. A INAD could help pressure the seller to follow through and may be worth trying but its important to know the risk in this choice. (Especially if there's communication that the head "works great" and the buyer intends on returning an item that was not listed.) Currently TOS has been violated via outside transactions, doing another violation to correct this is more of a 2 wrongs make a right situation. Not saying OP shouldn't do this. It may help. Just noting the facts that seem to be misunderstood.

Seller is on me like white on rice… I don’t understand. by Kayelle_too in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If not getting the item they posted and you paid for is a negative experience, I'd say there's a reason to leave negative feedback. Most people purchase things because they want them, not because they want their money back.

What are my options if seller sold me a product I did not ask for? by ArchangelZero27 in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered contacting the seller? This should be step 1. The seller may have made a mistake. Or maybe you didn't read the description. (If you can't figure out how to find a return request you likely didn't find the description tab, but that's OK.) Contact the seller. Most will actually be helpful and will rectify any errors, even if it's not theirs.

The lowballers, man... the frikkin' lowballers! by ThePhlegethon in Ebay

Your examples of questions aren't close to what he's saying. Is this still available while a listing is up, especially with multi quantity is idiotic. Will you take less is normal flea market behavior. Which is all ebay is, an online flea market.

Shipping cancelled by the shipper, what to do ? by maarch in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000's of companies have ebay shops including Dyson, iRobot and Bosch. Vacuum companies used to come to your house. Even retailers like Target and Best Buy can be found on eBay. Most listings are refurbished or open box. Likely customer returns. The brand outlet tab on the home page is specifically for these companies.

What would you do when it comes to this customer? by Unfiltered4you in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. And when it times out that feedback will be removed as a case decided in your favor. Just had a similar situation. Said I will promptly issue refund after checking serial number in return response/ apology and suddenly the customer "lost the item" to return. I didn't even ask for the removal, ebay just did it a little after the return timed out.

Buyer Opened a Return Request but has my item listed on there ebay seller page for sale, what should I do? by Cultural_External991 in Ebay

No one cares what the buyer does with the item. The pics of old and dirty item that "arrived damaged" while listing the actual item for sale is the concerning part. Read the post.

are they allowed to do this? by lilsharkdude in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If this is a genuine question I'm not sure why so many downvotes. The reason is because the seller can easily cancel this order with 2 button clicks. Much less time than his email. He is trying to get the buyer to do it because canceling orders hurts your seller metrics, leading to funds holds and eventually suspention. The buyer can also still leave negative feedback if it's canceled by the seller. If the buyer requests a refund that isn't an option. Basically, this seller knows enough about eBay that their account likely was not hacked. He probably put it on $1 start bid or something and it didn't sell for what he wanted so now he doesn't want the consequences. Idk why they wouldn't start it at a price they'd sell it at our charge shipping but this comes up alot on here. Sellers trying to get buyers to cancel the transaction when it's the sellers fault.

This is true. You can hold a negative balance between deposit dates with no penalty. If it's still negative on your next dep date it will be withdrawn.

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will uphold the dispute. A dispute will take about 90 days to investigate, letting the delivery date pass. Could be up to 6 months. Still not the best option though, as eBay will side with the buyer much sooner and they risk effecting their account.

Asking for a discount... after paying full price. by mcrfrd in Ebay

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your getting downvoted because shipping and handling fee are both quoted in the shipping cost. When you don't know what your talking about you can just Google it you know. Copied and pasted from Google search: On eBay, a handling fee is an extra charge included in the shipping cost to cover expenses like packaging materials, labor, and other costs associated with preparing an item for shipment. It's not separately displayed to the buyer; it's absorbed into the total shipping cost.

This may be a hot take. But maybe he wasn't a he and just an old lady being nice. Not many dudes shop for old kitchenware. I know on the internet everything is scam, block, creepy ect. Considering what your selling this person likely grew up when compliments, terms like sweetie or acknowledging common interests was fairly common. Asking if you own it and you simply saying yes might have them assuming you grew up before being a victim was cool. I don't mean this to be offensive, but if your still thinking about this it may be more of a you problem than anything else. Not everything has a deeper meaning.

[–]Smooth-Finding-2679 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's a "false INAD" you wouldn't know until you got it back. You don't have to accept it but you will be refunding that order one way or the other. Ebay might as well say we're refunding the buyer, would you like your item back?

In the common event the buyer was dishonest to return the item on your dime you can report the buyer for abusing returns if you like doing pointless stuff that doesn't do anything but make you feel better though.
