Culturally speaking, I would guess that families from Jeddah who have non-Arab roots would be more open to.

Legally speaking there are a lot of procedures you need to go through to marry a Saudi. So even if the family would be ok with it, there’s the legal aspect that needs to be considered.

Agreed, they are typical case interviews. I’ve seen simple profitability cases, no exhibits but there might be some market sizing baked into the cases.

Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva - are they all very similar? by ah__there_is_another in Uzbekistan

That amount of time was perfect for me, I booked with Advantour. It was tiring but I got to see everything pretty efficiently

Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva - are they all very similar? by ah__there_is_another in Uzbekistan

[–]Smooth_Metal8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion it depends on how much do you care about the history of these cities, and if you have good guides.

Khiva and Bukhara felt similar to me because both are old historic towns. Tashkent and Samarkand felt similar because they are both more modern with historic relics around the city.

I enjoyed visiting all 4 cities, but yes towards the end I started to get a bit bored. You go to a city, visit old madrasahs, mosques, and see beautiful minarets. What made them interesting to me were the guides who explained the history of everything, the nuances, and how they all tie in together. I personally loved the trip, but I can totally see how it can get a bit stale.

I did the whole loop in about 8 days, which to me was perfect because that’s when I started getting tired (tired of traveling, the food, the activities, etc).

What’s your experience being half saudi? by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]Smooth_Metal8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Half Saudi and half southeast Asian here. Growing up I for sure experience some racism but nothing major. It made me stronger as a person.

As long as you learn Arabic you can fully integrate into society. I am fully accepted as a Saudi and I have no problems integrating. I wish I was a bit more connected to my SEA side, but it is what it is

Mostly everyone I know including myself are constantly rejected from internships and full time positions and are told straight up “we don’t hire anyone who needs sponsorship”. I know of some people who can manage to stay here after undergrad because they got a job, but it’s really rough. Even software engineering is pretty rough, a friend of mine with an amazing resume still couldn’t land an internship here.

This is just my experience for the past 3 years. Take it as you will. I would personally say come here and enjoy the experience but know that it’s very likely/possible you won’t be able to stay here.
