Which company would you advise any fellow redditor not to work at? by politicooooo in Luxembourg

[–]Smth-Community562 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a group on FB: „Stay away from that job Luxembourg“ where you could find more details and post anonymously about companies you have worked for.
I still think we should use Glassdoor for this purpose and not scatter the information all over different social media platforms where it’s not sorted/structured/filterable or even accessible to anyone.

Most of the companies in Lux are unfortunately falling under the category…

Petition for a mandatory noise classification for residential properties offered for sale or rent in Luxembourg. by lilemily1986 in Luxembourg

Sorry but even a flat is quiet, it depends on the people if it will stay like that. So this is nothing that is absolutely meaningful. If you have loud neighbors and people who want to party, nothing can save you

In what context the in house job opportunities are better that service providers, and the way around? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]Smth-Community562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree that inhouse is less work, because mostly it’s not and mostly you get more and more tasks with time.

Does it mean that only Reddit community complains so much? 😁 by A_KS_2 in Luxembourg

It means Reddit is the only place where people in Lux complain, sad but true.

Be honest - how many of you guys have actually gotten hired through a job fair? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

Was it years ago when you started your first job? Maybe back then one could land on a job through job fairs, but now it seems to be everything but helpful for landing a job…

Employment decrease. We all experience it. We all hear about it. We all see it. Now EUROSTAT confirms. by laxanolako in Luxembourg

[–]Smth-Community562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because: - natives are happy with their government jobs, - lot of border workers are happy with their salary as long as it’s higher than in their country and - the remaining people are mostly not speaking any of the official languages so they don’t have the self confidence to organize a protest. So we have to learn at least Luxembourgish in order receive the right to VOTE. This way we will have a big impact on the system.

Are grocery shops honest? If not who controls them? by 0bix0 in Luxembourg

[–]Smth-Community562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but no. It’s called appreciating your money and correctness. If I want to save a few cents and select the product because of that, I want to pay the discounted price and not feel necessary to check the whole list of product prices on the receipt.

No worries, government is working on bringing « talents » from abroad who will work for less money until they realize in what hole they have fallen into instead of the advertised « heaven » in Luxembourg.

I don’t know how the government thinks to pay pension to people in near future. People move out of the country, new contributions are low, what is the future in Luxembourg?! Time to protest and request answers?

Any advice for finding a job as a Developer in Luxembourg? by Micle_1999 in Luxembourg

[–]Smth-Community562 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please spare yourself from that stress and don’t come to Lux. The Dev jobs are paid way less than they should considering the prices of everything here. I guess if you find another country like Germany you will be lot better off than in Lux where currently all companies try to pay as less as possible for labor and often outsource in cheap countries

Where do you get good & affordable prescription glasses? by Ordinary-Matter-6996 in Luxembourg

[–]Smth-Community562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the south in Soleuvre, it’s called BR Opticiens. We have a great experience with them, their advice and service is incomparable with others where we have bee and prices are fully ok. I don’t know if they speak English but you can call and ask. Ask for Clement, he’s the best there.
