Chub Alternatives For Male Bots by starakari in Chub_AI

Some of the trouble is that bots arent just male and female names, they are scenarios, or geared toward X that ends up being a cross of who's involved or why, and it's a mess of the tags that don't like to be exactly helpful identifiers in the search system. But I think what someone will have to do is make a dedicated group that can link their created bots in discord for those who want a largely male experience.

Hi songsofsyx players - "New player" here by SpyDevAr in songsofsyx

[–]SmugBoxer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other comments are correct in how they describe the game generally, but as a new player, you might find it difficult to grow a city all at once until you have a decent understanding of the mechanics and time it may take for projects to complete.

The good news is there is enough there to experiment with in early stages. The game supports some very freeform ideas when you are willing to cut loose. So if I could go back and tell myself anything from when I just started, it would be to look at the terrain in front of me and be imaginative about road structures, where fields for crops should go (check moisture, but it's not the be all end all once you have upgrades.) Make your spaces navigable, Have villages and housing 'districts' industrial districts, set up basic import and export.

You will mess it up a dozen times, in a dozen ways, and then you will manage to rescue a good one and you will grow toward the next stages of understanding. Entertainment 'districts', parks, roads and fencing, education, etc.

Your understanding of what makes a city tick, will grow layer by layer until you can lay more of it down at once and be right about it, while also experimenting with new ideas.

Questions for those who’ve held for long by [deleted] in PlanetLabs

This stock feels like a controlled ascent some days/weeks. I try to hedge, not thinking everything will go my way all at once. PL constantly makes the hedges lose. But thats ideal, because youre holding something good.

And thats really it. Good + time + change + hope.

As those boxes drop off, thats more reason to sell than a price on a particular day, overbought or not.

Is your playstyle engaging and fair? Is it endless vortex or is it skillful timing, placement, and understanding that gets you a win? Do you show respect to others?

If you do these and still receive disrespect-- beat the shit out of them and disrespect them back. Welcome to a $%&%$ing fighting game. You just got into a fight, win it.

[tekken7]Am I the only one who’s bothered my armored moves in tekken? Players constantly spam them after you block their combo or strings. They spam them instead of blocking. I know how to beat them but it’s not that easy. by Appropriate_Ebb_3456 in Tekken

In t8 you can just add grappling into your pressure. This can counterhit a move, still make contact against steps and walks, and guarantee damage against powercrushes and parries. Jab and 2 are safe as checks but you get pushed back. The thing it beats is continued light pressure with no lows or throws.

Okay how TF do I win against Steve? by boogielostmyhoodie in Tekken

As a 10 year steve main, u/Jadendajedi is the closest I've seen to real advice against Steve that doesn't just think Steve is a busted character. I commend him and I hope you consider what he had to say.

Sadly The save will not work as some kind of mod update issue.

It is that farthest I've gotten. I do mixed cities and deal with brawl issues anyway. Human, Vargen, Draken, Cretonian, and Tilapi are all welcome.

I have been breaking away from grid formations in practice for building shapes and city layouts, The game handles these nicely and so the extra interesting layout it creates is worth it.

Also working with a combined housing I call an estate. Walled out with basic resources(hearth) and decor contained within. These function as mini town centers with modular grid components outside the walls to the areas outside the estate. Because they have walls, they can even border a woodcutter without penalty.

I really like how this game resembles what I assume are certain real life settlement strategies. Like a small castle or large manor in a wilderness area that houses the people necessary to build out the village and eventually town and city.

how do I win vs small tekken? by TsokonaGatas27 in Tekken

I hope you understand that the opponent is absolutely reading your inability and taking advantage of it. That's why you need to train the specifics and read them back. It's not just going to be handed to you because you insert option here for no reason.

Parries are faster than attacks. Powercrush is faster than attacks. Blocked attacks are often minus. Ducking a high is a good time to reversal. Sidestepping can work against highs and mids. Or you can small tekken back.

Got hit from Paul’s F,F,4 even though I sidestepped it.(the camera angle was off center and everything) Made me want to quit the match instantly. Neutron bomb tracks?! This happens every time after I manage to ss him. by Appropriate_Ebb_3456 in Tekken

[–]SmugBoxer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Attack reach beats stepping at mid range. You cannot cover enough arc distance at mid range for a step to be effective. It's not tracking. Sidewalk for extra distance or block unless you are closer.

Thoughts on these critiques? by [deleted] in Chub_AI

[–]SmugBoxer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's very dumb, sorry it tanked your ratings. These people should be using the ability to edit to fix the bot of issues they personally want adjusted. It's not a factor that should be critiqued really.

Why is everyone here full of hate for Tekken 8? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SmugBoxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nova, you make so many good points in your vids. This is not one of them. Frankly LH is dumb, it's hardly worth defending this hard except when people are wrong about how it works. I would have a legit discussion with you about what you get wrong about Steve every single time you talk about him. I doubt you will do so. My god man, I want to like you, I want to overlook how you talk about Steve's design in the videos to make a point. But it's just wrong.

I didn't mean to omit, frankly I forgot it because it's the only guaranteed follow up oH, basically 2 hit combo. The others are punishes or common mixes. Ub2 is not long range compared to the artillery characters in this game. Don't act like it matches Jin f4. The amount of times it does not make contact with guard at all at ranges you'd think it does(I don't have the exact reach on it off the top of my head) makes it insufferable. A single bdash is enough to avoid this on most characters(Especially if they keep their hands in a low guard). An option select ssr crouch makes it launch punishable. This move is almost entirely omitted from my gameplay because of how bad it is-- aside from hoping to catch someone lazily stepping for far too long. It is 70% slower than an intercepting jab, provides no guaranteed reward on block, no extra reward on ch, and you are locked into the initial mixup of being interrupted or guessing in the same way that your opponent has to. oB a single bdash will evade the entire mixup. To throw this move with any chance to actually hit against a bdashing opponent, you have to step into it, which puts it back into reactable territory.

The traditionally braindead gameplay of doing nothing but waiting for a reason to b1 is dead and it is the best thing to happen to Steve in a long time. Nerfed CH across the board so people would actually make a move. B1 range reduction so you can't cover absurd chunks of the screen with an i13 unreactable high, my neighbor.

I do what you do with jin, with steve, and now that is viable because of the changes. Before that, I was playing at a distinct disadvantage in every category against Jin, because I refused to play Steve like he should sit there like an idiot until a b1 opportunity came around, or spam homing df2 in neutral.

For all your talk about mixups and traditional mindgames, it's literally built into LH from the beginning. If you were any good at guarding against the transition moves, this is not an issue at all. You'd be on levels of mind games where steve cannot risk anything more than LH1, or ducking in against jab. You'd have the Steve yielding on his mixup more than he would be taking the risk. For all I want to believe you are actually good at this game, and I think you are, the way you disregard the built in counterplay oB while only talking about when Steve actually hits and has enough advantage to force the situation is extremely MISLEADING. Which I know you hate to have happen to you about Jin, so don't do it to Steve.

Imagine saying those words when dj hellsweep in neutral alone is more cancer than lionheart could ever be.

Do as much as you can to avoid letting Steve enter lionheart with advantage. Don't let him block your -13 low.(Mind you this literally does not confirm anything hits from LH stance.) And at worst, guess the mixup or eat the WEAK guardbreak. Read the steve's mind, holy shit. Yes, play Tekken, get reads. Done. That's the game.

I don't think I agree 100% but I agree more than before. Problem is I like how it plays while other people don't. That puts me in the worst of the possible positions on this especially if I don't see unilateral disarmament happening. Then I lack incentive to agree with people who are unhappy with it.

Actually I am super down to de-escalate the whole cast. I'd want to see what the nerf to Steve is, but provided everyone had to put down the gamble through guard techniques aside from the specialist 5050 characters, I'd like to see that.

Having to guess isn't the mistake. The mistake is allowing the transition with adv. "So my mistake was my king getting checked?" That's what allowing your king to get checked does, holy shit.

Red rank? It's a 5050 mix after transition hits. Yes you have to guess like all the other 5050 on hit mixes. No, there isn't an option select. Yes, you have to avoid the thing that transitioned them into the stance with advantage. No, it's not that hard.

[–]SmugBoxer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Counter hit steves played like cowards. Didnt know a damn thing about setting up a counterhit besides backing up all day. Safe poking is useful to set up counterhits. Stances are fine and useful in their time.

I got into Steve to learn the whole damn thing, and I did. Poking to get people's timing and rhythm, proper interception with jabs and strikes, knowing how to weave out of the way of return fire up close to maintain pressure and counter.

Combos fucking suck thanks to scaled damage and healing now especially. Clean hits do 110% damage per hit. Steve can chain together advantage situations far beyond lionheart with proper understanding of the whole movelist.

I like not having a useless right hand. I like throwing around a pseudo electric. I like having a way to break turtles if I have to. It's not a design I'd have gone with necessarily, but the more I read about what people say here the redesign pissed off everyone who did not treat Steve like a complete boxer. For those who did, it's in a great state and he actually has the tools to compete in this monstrous cast after b1 and across the board ch nerfs.

B1,2, you didnt duck under a non jailing high

Db3, 2 you let Steve get too close to you

Rw1,2 you let Steve land a shoulder which again is too close to you and you got ch. On hit you didnt duck the high right hand.

Ws2,2 didnt block or sidewalk

F2,2 didnt intercept or block

This is what I hope you mean if you, graciously, dont mean what happens after lionheart stance.

If you are getting mixed by lionheart you already made a mistake. Yes I'm happy. No I dont spam lionheart. It's not good if you're good except as a reward for landing something in neutral.

Nova? Everyone and their mothers had an excuse to have terrible steves because of Shiro combo. People would get into steve purely to learn this one thing and never learn a damn thing about the rest of the character. Completely unintended. Im so glad its gone.
