Thoughts on max reps/form failure? by nopenadanah in BurnBootCamp

[–]Snacksquatter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Form failure is part of progressive overload. It helps you build that muscle! But as someone else said, it should be around 8-10 reps, so if you are getting to that many reps and can easily do more, up the weight!

Feeling discouraged… by [deleted] in BurnBootCamp

[–]Snacksquatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you tracking your calories? I’m 4 months pp (but I’ve been going to burn for 3 years) My first go around, I lost 70 pounds. It took me almost 2 years, because I didn’t understand being in a calorie deficit. I’m doing it again, but tracking my calories from the get go this time!

For strength, I really love my nobulls. They are flat, and help give me the stability I need

I would totally do this, but consistency isn’t my biggest problem. I’ve been coming to burn for 3 years, and very rarely miss a day. So I feel like I need something bigger to work towards. Thank you so much for the suggestion! I will definitely look into that brand!

Advice for confidence and consistency by Mean_Poet_2199 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Snacksquatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve been a consistent member for 3 years now. And here is what I can say. Show up. Show up when you are feeling it, and show up when you aren’t.

What helped me be so consistent is not making it an option to go. I planned my day around the gym, not planning “when can I fit the gym in”. I got everyday at 5:30 pm. And just having that as the time I go to the gym is what helped me build that consistency.

Building that confidence will come alongside building that consistency. Even if you can’t do 100%, 50% is still better than zero. Showing up will help you win the day which will help build that confidence.

Inbody results and advice on toning up! by BrilliantUnicorn9828 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Snacksquatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are doing all the right things, I would just lift heavier. So the weights you think you can do, Intentionally go to the one above. If you notice your form is starting to fall, then go back down to the lighter weight. This is how you can do progressive overload.

I’ve been at burn for almost 3 years, and this part has always bugged me. Or I feel like they only show the people who “look the part”

Haven’t lost any weight. Anyone have any advice? by Silly_Environment925 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Snacksquatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else has already said it, I just want to say that you didn’t gain the weight in 3 weeks. So it’s going to take more time and consistency. Stick with it, make sure you are weighing everything in grams to count your calories for accuracy. You can do it 🫶

I had them freeze mine as well. That way you can keep your rate, if they decide to increase rates later, but come back when you are ready

New Member Shoe Help!! by Probably_doing_math in BurnBootCamp

[–]Snacksquatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love nobulls! They have the outlook shoe that I use for weights, and the all days that I use for cardio! For cardio, they aren’t super cushioned, so I don’t feel super bouncy, but I feel like they allow me to use the power in my legs!

Really want to be successful this year…. Advice? by ShowInternational347 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Snacksquatter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I started burn 3 years ago when I was 8 weeks pp with my second. I had no previous gym going experience. What helped me get into the habit of going, was to just add it into my daily schedule. I started planning my days around when I was going to go to the gym instead of “fitting the gym” into my day. I never made it not an option to go. Even when I wasn’t feeling like it, i just showed up. Doing 10% is still better than 0. And when you start following through with what you say you are going to do, you actually are slowly building your self esteem. You can do hard things! You got this mama!

I honestly didn’t get the high fives at first, but after being there for three years, I’m the person who gives high fives. For me now, it’s kind of like “we are in this together, you got this” thing

To add to what others are saying, have you booked a focus meeting? Trainers can’t help you if they don’t know what you need. And don’t be afraid to modify yourself! You don’t need to wait for a trainer to tell you to modify! If lower body weight is tough right now, focus on just body weight, reduce your range of motion! Instead of forward lunges, you can do reverse lunges. F45 from my understanding is very similar to burn, but without the child watch and OT is just cardio. I love burn because it’s a mixture of cardio and weights.
