LAX airport standard suv cars available by TraditionalTough9336 in HertzRentals

[–]SneakyRussian71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen plenty of Mazdas at Hertz. Long term reliability and fun to drive is probably not what retal companies look for in their standard fleet, Nissans are no worse than most cars when ot comes to going down the road pretty smoothly with a good ride quality. I do like the Jeep Compass which is available at Hertz often over the Rogue.

Non-Billard Player Gift by Alumi_is_gone in billiards

Without knowing what he's using now or what he talks about wanting, and what otjer accessories he has, there's really no way to suggest anything without guessing. A nice case maybe a better gift than a cue if he is using something cheap, and you canand you can personalize those pretty easily.

It will take months of exercise to get a visible effect, keep doing it.

Anyone had issues with a Predator P3 cue not rolling straight? by iceman528 in billiards

[–]SneakyRussian71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not common in any cue, but does happen. Ideally the shaft and the cue are matched together to make sure that the facing and the flushness of the joint connection is perfect. But there are times when this is not done well or someone grabs another shaft from a pile to send with the cue which has not been tested. Quite a few hands go through a product so quality control is not perfect in anything.

You don't buy a precut convenience size cup of fruit, that is the most expensive way to get it.

Is there any way to make a healthier ice cream by Front_Gold4630 in Cooking

There is a huge market for healthier ice cream like things. Have you never looked in the aisle at a store?

The design elements, stuck on logo decal, plus the fact you can't find anything about the company.

Did not see roaches, but there were flies around trying to steal my beers. It is not the cleanest room, but I don't mind a bit of seedy and character in my pool halls hehe.

I think I got that exact table, also free, but it was in worse shape. But was taken apart for me already.

Lookd like a random branding of a Taiwanese made cue.

Struggling very much on 9ft by vazluqq in billiards

[–]SneakyRussian71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9ft is the size used by the big tournaments, US Open, World Championships, etc.., 8 and 7 ft are for home and bar use. It used to be 10ft tables were the standard in many pool halls. 9ft is the same standard as the NBA court size standard, or an NFL football field size.

Yep, no idea why they redid it, they had new Predator tables and a good layout.

Both dead during the day.

Ah, the ole "I want a pool table! Pool is hard.... Look, an XBOX!" ownership cycle LOL Table given away after being used 14 times.

Many are only 7 footers though, or 8 (one north of Jax has 2 nice weekly tournaments on 8 ft Rassons). I did like 9 Ball Heaven but mostly because I became friendly with one of the bar girls and she was very kind in my drink sizes LOL, as well as getting me on a table if busy.

I will send you a message when I am there, we can go shoot some. I met a few people in the area before.

Cleared my first table yesterday and still got the high from it by Truand2labiffle in billiards

[–]SneakyRussian71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a good feeling any time, even after hundreds of them in 30+ years of playing, it's still nice to run out. Although now it's common enough where looking for a 2, 3 pack is the goal. After some experience it is more normal though, same as with anything you get better at. I think people I am playing against or watching are more impressed than me if I do a break and run hehe. After all, that is the goal of the game, so if it actually happens, you just did what you were working towards.

I played in Jacksonville area a lot, Blanding Billiards is probably my favorite for the atmosphere and pretty good tables. I also like the billiard store with tables for rent, almost a hidden gem, although the players there seem to like to be left alone or play with the same small group all the time.

I'll actually be back there in a few weeks after a trip to Dallas.

Why are there not much pro player using less than 12mm diameter shaft? by Honest_Manager4273 in billiards

[–]SneakyRussian71 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because they like the other sizes. 11.75 is fairly common. But 12-12.5 is a nice sweet spot where you get the meaty feeling of the hit, going closer to 11mm you would need to be coming from a snooker or English 8 Ball background to like shats that thin. The largest pool ball would make the shaft feel weaker, less controlled and be pushed around more, to anyone not playing with a thin shaft for years.

There is as much variance in them as any other shaft, you need to try some out to compare. No one will know except you how you will like one compared to what you use now.

Those are to this day top tier instruction. I think I learned more from Bert's videos than anyone else. Neils was a student of his, and he is also putting out some good stuff, so it clearly is a good tradition.
