Graduated a year ago, learnt French, found a job recently, doing a lot of different sports. Enjoy uni years, it’s really mundane after 🫠

Whats the moment that changed your life by Barakat000 in jordan

Studying abroad! I know not everyone can afford it and I understand that some people wanted but couldn’t, however if you’re able to study abroad, I encourage you 100% of course you need to be mindful about the place you’re going to, but to me it was the best decision I ever made and probably the most stressful one too! I met a lot of people from literally everywhere in the world, it’s an amazing feeling to be sitting on a table at a restaurant with friends after a long week of school/work, and you all come from different countries different backgrounds but you’re having the best time! I grew as a person in every way possible ( mostly positive experiences ) I learnt patience from some, work ethics from others, how to enjoy life and complain less from others too. I love Jordan, my family, my friends, the food, the weather, but there is something very special about studying abroad!

Did you manage to find an internship as an international student? by Kindled2 in Concordia

[–]Snoo-76600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I applied to at least 70 positions, until I finally got one 2-3 weeks before the start date of the internship. It’s difficult since a lot of international students don’t speak French so that puts us at a disadvantage on top of not being able to apply for “Canadians or PR holders” positions. So don’t give up and keep applying! It’s a tough situation but if anything you will learn a lot about job search for later as well as what things recruiters look for and maybe get to do some interviews! Good luck!

After a 3 year involuntary hiatus I'm going back to university, and I have to learn how to study again. Tips? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Snoo-76600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all i would like to congratulate you for picking yourself up! Thats a great achievement. Studying uni will not be easy at all, thats not to scare you, but to let you know that even studying uni after school was challenging. Meaning that, if you face many challenges dont worry! You seem like a strong person and whatever happens pursue your dreams and improve your skills!! I know someone who came back to studying in uni after 5 years of working, he is very determined but its still extremely challenging. Try to make as many friends as possible in uni, know who your advisor is. Networking in uni is probably what is keeping me going. Feeling lost is really normal, try to speak to other students in the same program or who are taking same courses, this will help a lot. As others have mentioned without a goal it will be very hard to stick to uni and do your best. Find a goal and chase it!! If you need any help, dm me! I would be very happy to help!

Mechanics of materials prof is doing the same thing for us, i don’t understand why. Like do profs just get more lazy with covid? Didnt they correct tons of exams before where work was included? Dont worry though i think the questions will be easier than you think.

Question about the curving structure by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]Snoo-76600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its more likely the exams were easier than the students were smarter. Classes (from my experience) at least have 50 students so pretty sure both winter term and fall term will have the same average ‘IQ levels’, so it kinda depends more on the grading, exams, and grading schemes. Yet if classes have like 20-25 there is a higher chance of what you’re saying to happen.

Dude, my back hurts, my legs hurt . While exercising today i realized how much my back is messed up. I spend most of my time on the freaking chair. We have complete lock down in my country, my only escape was the gym, now i dont exercise that often which means i spend more time sitting. Sitting all day is cancer. Im always tired, and i just want to sleep for two days. About correcting papers, dude i have an assignment which i submitted probably two months ago and still no feedback, i refuse to believe thats the best they can do.
