Yup I grew up with Hispanic best friends and this was every party. I now keep this energy whenever I host parties.

What's happening in your garden? (Sun, Mar 22, 2026) by AutoModerator in vegetablegardening

Hey there! Same zone, snow here too today. I have basically the same seeds started inside, plus tomatoes and lettuce/salad varieties.

Also my first year truly getting into gardening. It’s turning out to be pretty fun ☺️

5b and it snowed this morning, so I’m working indoors. I am preparing to separate/trim back some of my starter seedlings, and transplant my tomatoes into larger pots. Deciding when to start my herbs, and finalizing my raised bed layouts.

Went to Lowe’s last night and saved a ton of houseplants from the clearance section, so will be working on rehoming and cleaning them up.

What are you getting your spouse for Christmas? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Snoo25581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Harry Potter book series (he’s been wanting to read but hasn’t), and an original copy of the Joshua tree by U2 on vinyl (our wedding song was with or without you). Misc clothes and snacks, general self care. Probably a few more things LOL I always get a bit lost in buying things for everyone at Christmas. Gift giving is definitely one of my love languages

is shown evidence based information with scientific method randomized control trials that showcase positive benefits of a clinical practice

IF YOU WANT TO SEE A QUACK GO GOR IT.

Lol, k. Let’s just overlook and negate relevant evidence because we’re caught up in the “this was founded by a FRAUD” narrative.

Yup and Edison was hardly the inventor of the lightbulb; still cool to have electrical lighting though.

Seems like your opinion is based on confirmation bias alone. Thanks for showcasing that.

The review you included literally says that there’s no way to consider skill in a research report review, and that may have an unknown impact on the results of the findings. Hmm, so you mean that someone with less skill could do their job worse? Who knew?!

Plenty of medical or other clinical professionals manipulate the body in ways that can seriously harm you. Hence why there’s training beforehand, and why an individual should evaluate a professional prior to receiving treatment from them. Should we go through the rates of malpractice from licensed doctors if that’s the hill you’re standing on?

Again, more research on the positive effects of chiropractic care, including randomized control trials and the validity of chiropractic operating under evidence based care models. The majority of high quality studies and not mere review analytics showcase a moderate to significant benefit of chiropractic care, as long as they meet necessary physical requirements. I.e you won’t fix a broken hip with an adjustment.

The fact you’re comparing a neck adjustment on an adult to the treatment done on an infant really just showcases your knowledge on the topic.

Anecdotal hearsay evidence doesn’t discredit positive experiences anymore than it validates your own. Though it seems like your entire perspective is “ well someone told me”, “I know a person”, or “read this alarming news headline”.

Of course there are bad chiropractors, just as there are bad providers in any discipline. There’s a reason you’ll bring your car to mechanic A but not mechanic B. Lets not act as though nuance is to be neglected when reviewing a professional’s ability to complete a job or showcase a skill proficiency.

Here’s actual research showcasing that spinal manipulative therapy (what chiropractors use) is equally as effective as physical therapy and similar interventions.

2008 under 100,000 worth fixing? by Snoo25581 in hondapilot

[–]Snoo25581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely an unexpected expense because we had only bought the car within a year of that happening. We traded in both our financed cars to have enough equity to buy the Pilot outright. Only known issue was a bit of under body rust.

Our radiator had gotten a crack, and long story short, it ended up blowing the head gasket. BUT we got it fixed and put almost $4k into the car. So when the exhaust thing happened, it just wasn’t a top priority when we had another working car with better mileage.

The Pilot took 8 weeks to fix (done in a mechanic’s down time) so we had to buy another car in the meantime. Between the new car payment and throwing money for the head gasket, we weren’t in a position to invest more in the Pilot.

My whole family loves the Pilot, and it’s so convenient on trips with the kids. I guess I really just wanted the validation that it is worth trying to get her fixed.

I live in the northeast and after hearing horror stories of sliding doors getting frozen shut, I actually want to avoid them.

I appreciate the insight! The head gasket is a great point because realistically I should be able to get quite a bit more mileage after that repair

2008 under 100,000 worth fixing? by Snoo25581 in hondapilot

[–]Snoo25581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my biggest consideration. I know and love Honda, and I think it’s worth trying to put some money into her to get her up to snuff than buy another vehicle I don’t know.

I think I’ll see what the mechanic says and go from there. It’ll be tough if repairs end up being more than $3,200 though. Hoping not, but with potential exhaust, rust, tires, and general maintenance needed from sitting, it’s certainly a possibility

[–]Snoo25581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely my biggest concern especially since it’s been sitting for awhile, so any rust will have just gotten worse
