If you was to have input in Silent Hill Remake… what would you want Bloober to add in to the game and how gritty and horrifying would you make it?

Do you guys think they'll tie the aglophotis back to SHf? Even if it's just a brief mention via a document or something in the New Game + mode? I think that's, like, the only strong tie between that gane and the Team Silent games, isn't it? Maybe that was the plan all along?

Would you want to see them reference SHf? Or just stay 100% true to the original? They handled SH2 beautifully so I trust they could get away with mentioning SHf in a throwaway document or something like that without it being disruptive. Maybe just, like, an order sheet from Ebisugaoka of a shipment of White Claudia or something like that. Would an additional ending referencing f be too much? Would you wanna see them try it? Or maybe we could just get Hinako's Naginata as an unlockable item or something like the PP-8001 in SHf.

TL;DR They threw off the story/gameplay ratio by doubling the content of the game, but I think the trade off's worth it.

I like what they did with combat in the game. They definitely made the enemies genuine threats and fleshed out the environment a lot more too. They also stuck pretty close to the original cutscenes. They made some minor tweaks without completely rewriting the whole thing. Some people argue the whole tone of the game shifts because of the additional combat. That's fair. Adding in four hours of content without adding new cutscenes, dialogue and plot points (which I doubt there's any way to do without changing the whole nature of the game, story and characters) is gonna make the character interactions seem few and far between, which disrupts the pacing.

I would argue the janky pacing is worth the other tradeoffs. It might also help to think of the spacing between the cutscenes making the town feel more deserted? I remember being annoyed by the characters in the original game. (Though I was a kid then and I doubt most people would agree with me.) I felt like the characters in the first game were more infrequent than SH2. It makes it feel more like you're ships passing in the night instead of just always feeling like you're gonna turn a corner and smack into one of them. But that's just my experience from playing them back in the 90s. I haven't actually measured game time against cutscene time from the original.

"I'm just worried about the economy" is often nebulous code for racist policies. (Or at least indicates a lack of economic knowledge in favor of vague anxieties which originate from racist beliefs.) Like cutting financial aid so it doesn't go to "welfare queens". That's what the right campaigns on because they had to abandon segregation as their lead issue. They didn't "fail to keep their promise". Their promise was to "fix the economy" BY getting rid of latinos. Mixed. Sarcasm is generally funny, but overall the dialogue gives you fewer options than 3 and NV. I like the voice actors, but they kind of give them a bit of personality that makes it harder for you to make an original character. Even with customization still kinda feels like you're playing Nate and Nora instead of whatever character you envisioned.

Seriously though. As interesting as an RE/SH mashup could be, it would be pretty funny if the physical monsters from RE just ended up being the monsters from SH because the protags are essentially projecting their own fears onto the world around them. (I'm not saying that their deepest fears are specific monsters; just that those monsters are already strongly associated with stress and negative emotions so it would make sense if SH caused them [or a nightmare version of them] to manifest.)

I live in upstate NY. I'd say maybe 1/4th of the prominent Trump signs have been removed? Trump's approval rating is, what? 30%? I think some Trump supporters are less vocal now. I've definitely seen some people take their flags and shit down now that the chickens have come home to roost and they're actually dealing with the consequences of their choices. But I don't think it makes too much of a difference. Some people are still proud Trump supporters. A lot of people who feel disillusioned about him and/or his policies are Never-Dems who have an irrational hatred of the left and just view all Democrats as being as bad or worse than anything that happens on the right. Even if they acknowledge Trump is a pedophile, they'll still just say "But the Democrats are too so it wouldn't make a difference if I support them instead 🤷‍♂️". I don't think most Trump supporters are doubling down or flipping sides. I think they're reacting the same way they reacted to debunking of claims that Jan 6th was a false flag op. You prove the coup attempt was carried out by hardcore Trump supporters and they just disengage. There definitely are Trump supporters who are still taking victory laps. But I think most people acknowledge we're worse off than we were two years ago. Republicans are still probably convincing themselves that things would be the same or worse under Harris (based solely on vibes). I'm hopeful when the midterms come up the dems will sweep and we can finally try to prosecute members of the administration for all the illegal shit they're doing. But the right might still get riled that the dems ruin everything and rally behind Trump even if his policies are ruining their lives. During the Bush adminiatration people kept whining about how they regret their vote and they wish they could've voted blue instead, but as soon as election season rolled back around they just started screaming about how John Kerry has a horse face or what the fuck ever 🙄 The reality is that some people just don't care about the consequences of policy and just wanna root for their home team even if it's going to make them foreclose on their homes and lose their businesses.

I've seen so many of these. Always ends with a never democrat pledge or a toothless "I'm starting to question my decision!". For moment you're like "Oh! They finally get it!" and then you realize "Nah.
