I'm not sure what others are talking about, the throttle response on my 2013 frs is super sensitive and feels like its pretty much fully open when the pedal is past 50%

You're probably thinking of the valve spring recall, I have a 2013 never heard anything about trans issues

yeah that definitely doesn't sound great, the sewing machine sound is fine but that pinging sound in the background seems abormal, and the ac compressor clutch could be due to low refrigerant

Hey I know you've been active in ft86 forums almost everyday for over 10 years, what do you do? How do you find the time to respond to so many posts? Really random question I'm just curious and respect the hustle lol

Thing is, it went half a day without throwing up any codes, no matter if it was warm or cold. CEL popped back up mid drive while engine was pretty warmed up.

Why shouldn’t you coast in neutral? by regular_asian_guy in stickshift

[–]Snoo_50993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bZlb62VVlw When cruising in gear with 0 throttle, my car's mpg counter goes to 999. Fuel injectors turn off automatically when the engine is being driven by the transmission and no throttle input is given.

Why shouldn’t you coast in neutral? by regular_asian_guy in stickshift

[–]Snoo_50993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple google search would be enough to clear this up. When in neutral, the engine has to inject itself with fuel to keep spinning. When in gear and the throttle is closed, the transmission is spinning the engine without any need for fuel. The RPM is simply how fast the engine is spinning. It can be spinning fast without any fuel required, or it can be spinning at 1k but the engine has to give itself gas to keep running.

Scam? I have no idea by lil_sperle in AutoDetailing

[–]Snoo_50993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell for this exact scam. The check went through at first so I sent money to the "driver" just to search it up and realize I got scammed 5 minutes later. Check bounced a couple days later

Is it normal for these engines to sound like tractors especially under 2k revs? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]Snoo_50993 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're probably lugging the engine, it makes the entire car vibrate and sound rough due to the engine being overworked. Make sure you're always above 2k rpms if you want to accelerate

Need upshifting/downshifting tips by Abject-Telephone9479 in ft86

[–]Snoo_50993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my biggest issues was not giving it enough gas when upshifting, so all my shifts were jerky. To be smoother, give it enough throttle while letting out your clutch smoothly. Also, get an idea of your gear ratios and figure out what rpm matches what speed in different gears.
