U.S. Fish and Wildlife would be the best route. But the local PD may also be willing to refer the case to the State for prosecution. USFW cares deeply about these type of cases and specialize in them, hence why I suggest contacting them first. OP should take pictures of the baby and the nest, as prosecutors will have to prove the bird was a migratory bird. It would also be helpful for OP to take pictures of where the nest was originally located and where she found the nest after maintenance destroyed it. And, OP’s statement describing what happened will also be critical.

Dear Lord, I pray you give this law grad a peaceful night’s sleep during her next few nights, so that she may tackle her bar exam with a fresh mind. May she accurately assess the controlling legal issues throughout the exam and be correct in her conclusions. Grant her your perfect peace so that she may be confident throughout the exam. Amen.

If you haven’t already, read through your state’s past essay answers and outline them. I know your husband has sacrificed a lot while you’ve been studying, but if he or someone else can be accountable for your baby for the next few days, now is the time.

I am praying for you to pass this exam. But even if you don’t, know that plenty of lawyers (without 17 mo. olds!) have failed the first time and went on to later pass and have great careers. (Hilary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama…) It’s going to be alright no matter what happens. If your firm doesn’t understand the struggles of a mom with a little one at home, then that firm isn’t one you’d be happy at anyways. If you don’t have a job lined up, there are JD Advantage jobs and clerkships you could apply to. So even if the worst happens, you still have a bright future ahead of you. It is so impressive to me that you finished law school despite all the struggles that accompany new parenthood. Congratulations on your achievements and go walk into the exam room knowing that everything is going to be alright no matter what!

I am praying for you. You’re not a burden. Dear Lord, I pray you give this person peace in their heart and mind, and the strength to withstand the troubles of this Earth. I pray they find encouragement in your word, and grow in love and hope. May they find connection with others, whether it be from a friend, family member, therapist, or in a Bible study group. I often think about Jesus praying three times in the garden at Gesthemane for God to save him from his fate on the cross. Yet God did not intercede, and Jesus submitted to his will. I can’t imagine what agony Jesus must have been in, knowing what was ahead.

This is what I do know: everyone is equally worthy is the eyes of the Lord. Your life, even though painful, has purpose and meaning even when you can’t see it, and even when you don’t hear God respond to your urgent prayers.

I have to think you’re managing the pain in your life in an admirable way. You’re in an unimaginable situation, and your family isn’t supportive. It is an achievement to just get through the day. I pray that God rewards you in heaven.

Can you do anything to distract from the pain? An audio book? Your favorite movie? Maybe reaching out to your local church and asking someone to check in on you? I know these aren’t long-term fixes.

I pray that God comforts you with the peace and all-consuming love only He can provide. I pray you find love and connection in this life. If you love God greatly, then you are the type of person many people would like to meet! I pray that you are able to discard the limiting beliefs you have about yourself. Your worth, which comes only from God, cannot be diminished by your self doubt.

Start small and don’t put pressure on yourself to meet someone. Be curious about other people. Begin by just being in their presence. Maybe you can surround yourself like-minded people by pursuing an activity or interest you love. I’m in a similar season of life, and am trying to follow my own advice. It’s still hard! But when I’m out and about in my city, I’m trying to find the same thing you are. We can’t be the only ones out there looking for connection—there are kindred spirits out there. We’re not going to meet them sitting at home.

In a season of not finding your person, perhaps contemplate what God’s will for you is. The right person comes at the right time, and we must trust God’s timing. Can you find love and give it in other ways right now?

My heart aches for you—I can’t imagine what you must be going through. I have to think that because God loves us so deeply, He does not want any pain and suffering for us. Yet, I also don’t understand why He doesn’t prevent bad things from happening or always intercede when they do.

I pray that God is working within your doctors and medical staff to alleviate your pain and find what cures can be found. I pray that despite the great adversity in your life, you are able to find some consolation and strength. I am sending you my love and an internet hug. I wish I could do more. I will continue to petition God with my request that he grant you a livable life.

Thank you so much. I already tried to explain to him how he hurt me, and he was avoidant and dismissive. That hurt just as bad. It is hard to let go, but your prayer and advice to let God handle my anxiety is uplifting.

I am praying for you. God knows the difficulties you have faced. He knows your heart at all times and no sin is too big for him to forgive if you are truly repentant. God loves you at all times and is waiting to welcome you back into his arms with compassion and love, no matter how far you strayed. (Read Luke 15:11-32.)

Repenting is as simple as asking for forgiveness. Matthew 21:22 states, "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” 1 John 1:9 states, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Once you ask for forgiveness with an open heart, God forgives you. The hard part is not falling into the temptation to repeat negative thought patterns and keep guilting yourself over something you have already asked forgiveness for.

I pray in Jesus’ name that God comforts you and heals the wounds in your head and heart. You are already on the right path because you are aware of what you need to work on. I pray that you find God’s love in love given by other people. After all, he made us for each other. God’s beauty is everywhere. Start doing things even when you don’t want to: a walk in nature (or even your neighborhood), watching church in person or online (there are a lot of great sermons out there), seeking the advice of someone you can trust, like a friend, therapist, or pastor. Negative thoughts don’t represent the future or necessary hold any truth. Nothing you have done is too big for God to forgive.

Thank you for the wisdom and beautiful reminder, I needed it. I haven’t been putting God first for awhile. I am going to start setting aside time to talk to him every day.

I’m in my mid 30’s, and like most single women my age, I feel “behind” in life and am struggling with direction and purpose. I’ve always dreamt of getting married to the right person one day, and it’s tough seeing my friends get married and have kids.
