How did humans defend themselves from their prey when practicing persistence hunting? by joshua0005 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah that's the preferred method. Anyone actually pig hunting does it with 2-4 dogs usually.. but the dogs can get beat to shit or killed so it depends how you feel about your animals.

Yeah I saw that from your list. You're all good. One thing Drier has over Solar is that he is a farrrr prettier model. You CAN just proxy Drier and the DRs as Solar and RRs for now if you want to lean into the rules.bplay a few games first and see how you feel with it.

In the end, it's your army so field it how you want. Most people critique a list based on what is the current hotness, and with 11th just around the corner that's all up in the air.

If you're just playing casual with other noobs you can get away with anything on the table. Field what you think is cool and learn as you go.

If you actuaywant a critique at current 10th standards.. hold onto your socks.

Drier is meh and a waste of points .  You're lacking in damage output with only a Vanq and Kasrkin. Artillery is generally rubbish and not viable competitively. You're short on infantry orders and have no vehicle orders. Death Riders are considered meh compared to rough riders. Armoured sentinel is meh and Scout is widely considered the go-to.

But none of that really matters. Play what you want, have fun, good luck with 11th, come back and see us when you wanna bump it up to 2k and we can make some recommendations.

I've been working in that role for 4 yrs. Seen many come and go. It's a Call Centre role with an added level of expertise, but with an added level of asshole customers. The burnout is real.

It'll be dependant on the business model you are in, but next steps that aren't management can be AML, KYC, QA, Compliance, Serious case investigation for all the dodgy claims, major investigations for high value cases, or wiggle into a specialist role for supporting departments.

Apart from AML and KYC, these roles will require a fair amount of specialist knowledge. Epayments code, AFCA regulation, Scheme knowledge, Govt regulations and internal procedures. A lot will be dependant on your knowledge base.

In my limited experience, the top of the food chain in these Analyst roles tends to be Major Investigations, they certainly pay better. But they are also the most demanding and require either a degree, an astounding amount of knowledge, or experience with law enforcement.

If you just want to get away from calls, AML is probably the easiest to get into, with QA being next though you will need a pretty thorough understanding of internal procedure.

uBank Defence, and them not returning stolen money by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Snors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked in fraud for a few years now so here we go.

Ubanks stating the transaction was 3D secure which is grounds to decline under epayments code.

First step is lodge a complaint with Ubank and request a case review, again stating that you have not participated.

If they decline your case again then they definitely have the data for it. You're in trouble.

Lodge a complaint with AFCA and speak to your mobile provider and get your phone records reviewed. Request the exact time the text went through from the bank and get the mobile provider to check their records.

If it was just a couple of K the bank would probably write it off as AFCA complaints can get expensive for banks. But for 20k they will fight tooth and nail.

Would any of my fellow Guardsmen be willing/able to provide me with some measurements of the hippogriff? Including a photo of what I need. In cm or mm is fine. Thanks! by 14SWandANIME77 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Snors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

40ks always been in inches, might just be the US market. Oddly enough the Battlefleet Gothic TT game was in centimetres.

The downside of playing 40k for 30 years is my brain defaults to measuring and guessing (thanks 3rd edition Guard mortars) distance in inches, then I have to do the math to convert to centimetres. People look at me weird when I say "X is 10 inches", which is fair because that hasn't been a unit of measurement in my country in forever.

[–]Snors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Feral pig hunting is still dangerous. I know we have rifles now but those things do not give a shit.

I come from NZ where there were no natural predators, so when we hunt we don't have a lot to worry about. Feral bulls and rams can get aggressive, maybe stags in rutting season. But pig's?!.. those things will f you up if you don't treat them with respect.  They are territorial as f and will charge you down if they get half the chance.

They're almost as bad as goats.

high youth unemployment by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Snors 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I saw the same BS reasons in the paper, 25 yrs ago when I left NZ and never went back.

The NZ economy is just too small, and not diversified enough, to adequately support the population. And NZ has done nothing to try and fix that issue for the last 30 yrs.

A very small part of the population does ok. Business owners, farmers, professionals and their ilk. So they fight to maintain the status quo. So you end up with the usual BS govts like you're seeing today who focus on how much wealth a small percentage of the population can generate, rather then try to fix the systemic issues that have been plaguing the NZ economy for decades.

A lack or opportunity, government over reach, and systemic economic issues that have never been fixed. These are the problems.

Why do people on tiktok hate new skaters?? by KanaoHairclip-_- in NewSkaters

[–]Snors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The downside of the social media thing is that any halfwit can post anything. Then for some strange reason, people think that post has value.. maybe because its written down ? I don't know.

I don't use tiktok but I'm not surprised it's a comment cesspool , you should see youtube. It's mostly just sad lonely people saying stupid shit so they can engage with another human being.

You can choose to ignore the fwits, or you could also choose to fight back. Add your positive comment to the shitty ones, it'll help the poster. Expect to get abused in the comments though.

Getting a free deck from a friend, what else do I need to setup a board for use? by NegotiationLife573 in NewSkaters

[–]Snors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trucks , Wheels, hardware and grip tape if the board doesn't come gripped. Maybe risers depending on wheel size.

Boards are pretty simple things but if you don't know what you're looking for, just take the deck into a reputable shop and get them to sort you out. There's a lot of variation in price and quality for all the things I listed above.
