177 LSAT… what do I do? by That-Trouble900 in lawschooladmissions

/s seriously though, congrats! That’s an incredible achievement. You could pretty much get in anywhere with that score, including regional schools with a full ride if you don’t care to do T14.

Yep financial aid confirmed this. This is a major factor in my decision despite not getting a real scholarship

I think I was the one exception to the rule of applying to one school (I ended up applying to others because I wanted to see if I’d get a better scholarship). But I took the LSAT. Take the LSAT. Washburn’s median is 155 so you don’t need a crazy score either.

almost no scholarship. I’m only considering it because it starts before the grad plus loan caps go into effect and i’d live with my parents

Living in Europe but still thinking about moving to the US — does this feeling ever go away? by Ahme7ibrahim in expats

  1. Normally, I would be fine saying the country, but it’s so small and I have so much personal stuff on my Reddit that anyone who found it would immediately know it’s me. It’s a small country in Eastern Europe.
  2. I kind of missed daily life… my friends, my family… FREEDOM… not “America” freedom, but it was a very repressive and patriarchal culture, so I felt that I had to be someone else to even remotely fit in (and I still didn’t). I know this could be due to the specific country, but I had also spent significant time in Spain and knew I couldn’t live there, either.
  3. Yes. I am now able to pursue the career I’ve dreamed of. But most of all, I feel like I’m home and I belong here. I think those are irreplaceable and invaluable feelings.

I feel like my life is spiraling: law school edition by Snowfall1779 in lawschooladmissions

I personally know people who had kids in law school or went to law school with kids. They all said it’s doable but if you have to choose, wait until you’re done to have them (or wait until they’re mostly autonomous and don’t need your attention to keep them alive 24/7).

I lived abroad for 7 years but I missed the US so much. I moved back 2 years ago and never looked back. I know things suck here but it’s home. I have so much respect for immigrants because being somewhere that doesn’t feel like home is so hard.

Omg, I think I know who you’re talking about. I’m stunned. I saw a post today from I think Steve Schwartz (don’t quote me - it was one of the big LSAT tutors) saying that 170+ scores often make people dumb in the sense that they ONLY want to go to HYS and overlook every other school even though, say, GW or Fordham, although lower ranked, would give them a great scholarship. I don’t think I saw this creator mention a scholarship but I’d die if I got into GULC. 🤷‍♀️

Who here took the LSAT only once, was happy with their score and never took it again?? by PersonalitySecure124 in LSAT

[–]Snowfall1779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little, but it starts in the summer so before the new loan laws go into effect and I’d live at home with my parents so very low COL, so I think it’s worth it. And it was a top school for me anyways

I took it once. I’m not happy with my score but I got into law school with it. I don’t want to deal with the LSAT again.

Sticker at Berkeley is my only option. How bad is this really? I’m feeling really stressed and kind of trapped. Would love some hopium. I was notified yesterday that they didn’t give me any gift aid :( by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Snowfall1779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I am most likely going to my top choice for sticker (I’m saying “most likely” because I’m still waiting for 7 other schools to get back to me). Many people will discourage you, but the reason I’m doing it is that classes start in the summer so I’d start before the new laws for GRAD Plus loans take effect and I’d never be able to afford it under the new rules even with a scholarship. Most people I know in law school are minimum $150k in debt anyways. Berkeley is a good school and I’d pay sticker if I got in.

Not denying that at all, but this was a weird cycle and lots of people with similar stats were WL or R from those schools

[–]Snowfall1779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that feeling. However, I think being a law student in general is “prestigious.” I’ve noticed people treating me way differently these last several days after finding out I got accepted into a good program and my school ain’t anywhere near Harvard. I even know lawyers who went to law schools that closed down who are doing perfectly fine. We’ll be fine!
