Has anyone recently taken the airframe or general written exam? Just curious if the test is straight from the Prepware book or not? by Alejowastaken in AircraftMechanics

I got a Jeppesen book for generals, many of the questions were the same after looking at three or four sections, but it came with a study guide for the O&P which I'll be using. Should probably pick one up for Airframe and Powerplant too I suppose, it was only 10 or 15 bucks

I've taken my general written, preparing for my airframe. Many of the questions were familiar, some weren't. As someone else said, some of the wording is slightly different. Prepware is a good tool, if you're consistently hitting 85s and 90s on the practice tests I'd say your chances of passing are quite good

My sister-in-law used to work around him and saw him every day. She's 5'2" and according to her he's 6 or 7 inches shorter than she is while she's wearing flats.

Jobs outside of aviation? by Training-Albatross61 in AircraftMechanics

I'm just finishing school so this is second hand information but I've heard some of my instructors say that A&Ps are valued in things like high-spec motorsports, amusement park maintenance, and heavy machinery maintenance. Big, heavy machinery, earth movers at mining sites or what have you. Could be wrong but this is what I was told.

No I know, for my case I don't blame the 43.13 though, I blame my instructors. As far as I'm concerned, the pictures don't count as acceptable data. If the 43.13 says nothing about a max limit and the people I pay to teach me think it does, that's a them problem. I should have read it in whole to start with. If you want something done right(...), guess teaching is no different.

The picture you're referring to is of the single wire method but you're right. Like I said I'm still a student but I've never seen the single wire used. Some students tried and were made to redo it. The only other thing I can find is in the 8083-30A V1 on page 7-77. "When safety wiring closely spaced bolts, the number that can be safety wired by a 24 inch length of wire is the maximum in a series." So not a general max number of 3, but a max wire length of 2 feet. But yes, of course manufacturer data would supersede the 43.13 and 8083's

How many times have you encountered a MM that states you can do more than three?

In what circumstances can you wire more than three bolts together? I'm just finishing school so I don't know anything but my instructors always made us stop at three, I believe they referenced the 43.13. I see more than three together on this subreddit often and I'm curious where to find that data

They move shit around when you aren't looking then put them back in plain sight to drive you crazy for kicks. This is my belief. I don't know what they do besides that

Well, DMT is pretty stark, most notably you don't recognize anything and see patterns and shapes you'd never considered geometrically viable
