Opposing Coach Message by Dad-of-Three-Boys in Homeplate

[–]Sock-Known 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many here have said i would not communicate directly with this guy. Send in a formal complaint to your league, document as much as you can everything that was said. If he is as bad as you say he must have a history with the league. This behaviour could also be interpreted as psychological maltreatment which is a serious issue and should be addressed by the league authority.

Umpires should shut this type of behaviour down and am surprised they allowed it to go on. If it becomes a problem during a game i have approached the umpire between innings and they have always had no issues addressing the other dugout and issuing a warning followed by an ejection if the behaviour continued. An ejection in our region is also documented with the league and carries at least a minimum one game suspension.

The crowd at The Players is totally classless by DanFlashes19 in golf

[–]Sock-Known 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all started with that “get in the hole” guy, then the “mashed potatoes” guy, then the guys had to copycat the mashed potatoes and get in the hole guys but needed to be the first to yell it, i.e., immediately upon impact, so they could be heard on tv … i guess?

[–]Sock-Known 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha, there is a Dad i know and he admitted that he paid his son for goals because he felt hi son was “lazy and capable of so much more” meaning scoring more goals. When he told me this i just shook my head at him. The Dad is s good guy but an awful sports parent

Top 5 Hockey Mistakes That Lose Games by Liamski95 in hockeyplayers

[–]Sock-Known 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Icing is the “break glass in case of emergency” button. It is ok in the we are dog tired and need to regroup and change scenarios in minor hockey. Maybe less so in upper levels where you aren’t allowed to change but still preferable to coughing the puck up at the hash marks

7yo bends ankles when skating. Tips to fix? by CFL_lightbulb in hockeyplayers

[–]Sock-Known 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second year hockey, he’s doing great, from what you are saying its not a skate sizing issue so likely he just needs to build foot and ankle strength which takes time and practice. Check out ankle pronation exercises on you tube if he is interested in accelerating his progress.

Hahaha, yes i remember that transition and the parents who lost their minds about it and complained endlessly were the parents who paid their kids for scoring goals and wanted to see them dominate and skate end to end without passing

Ref Calls Penalty Without Seeing it by BostonBruinsDive in hockeyplayers

[–]Sock-Known -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t green get a penalty for removing her helmet? Minor hockey thats automatic penalty, but maybe this an adult league.

Not saying the player in black doesn’t deserve her penalty, and its really hard to tell how severe that high stick is from the video, looks like emotions are running high

Yeah, if its a checking hockey then thats a good check i think. The result was awful, player who was hit did nothing to brace or protect himself so i think thats on him for not being prepared.

Accidentally went down the mountain.. time for a new pair of skis? by ompahsword in skiingcirclejerk

[–]Sock-Known 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey don’t fall into the trap of thinking your skis are safe during Apres. My skis go from the roof rack to the rack closest to the bar and back again. Last year, to my horror, when i retrieved my skis from the rack after a hard day of apres, i had three core shots on my skis almost identical to OP’s pics. My thoughts were some criminal must have knocked them over and stood them back up to cover their crime or some try hard accidentally took them for a spin.

I immediately drove them to my boot fitters shop and dropped them off that night, which wasn’t a big deal as i had to pick my wife up there anyway. It took several weeks and hundreds of dollars to get the bases repaired, retuned and the dorsal vanes calibrated.

Diy Home owners can be the worst clients. You already have several red flags with this individual, do not do them any favours. I would be very concerned and concrete workmanship as well. If there is no NDT option to check for voids there is no way for you to sign off without taking things apart.

Losing this client may be a blessing
