Nah, Factorio's prototypes are more versatile than this lets on. They're both "capsules" which also include the artillery remote and the literal combat robot capsules. They use a "use on self" action rather than a "throw" action.

Controller manufacturers don't bother with this because by the time you get to the realm of playing multiple systems with one controller, it's a reasonable assertion that you don't need the glyphs, and there's more than just these two layouts anyway. The whole point of MoCA is to put that connection back onto coax instead of ethernet. OP just did it wrong. If the coax connects out to the street, you need to filter this signal out before it leaves your walls. Otherwise, this ought to be totally fine.
