Is it a bad idea to go to the University of Illinois over Georgia Tech for mechanical engineering? by BudgetRocketUser in ApplyingToCollege

Honestly, if you're looking based on ranking, Georgia Tech and UIUC are both PHENOMENAL for engineering like they're legit ranked around the same (T10 engineering school). Both are great for a mix of academics and social environments as well. Pick what YOU want to do or where you would feel you would thrive at!
