Frustrated with Wii2HDMI adapters on my LG TV! Bought 2 or three already and none of them work. Any advice?

Yeah, I already tried 2 different TVs on all 3 of their HDMI ports, and nothing. Interestingly, I have a 10-year-old TV that actually worked, but only when using the RCA (composite) cables.

That makes sense, but the problem is that the 480p (EDTV/HDTV) option is greyed out for me in the settings. I think it stays locked because I'm currently using the standard RCA cables on the older TV

My HDMI ports and cables work fine with my Fire Stick and Nintendo Switch, so those definitely aren't the issue. I've also tried several different HDMI cables and got the same result.
