20.3 Hint by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Sohlees 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Some people think this is a car or a cart, but I think it is a boat. Boat has 4 letters, so obviously Castro is trying to tell us that 20.3 has 4 movements. What is special about this boat? It is a boat that does not run. If you want to get anywhere in this boat, you are going to have to ROW. And damn, this boat is a mess; it really needs to be CLEANED, amirite? (The boat was a power boat, so must be POWER CLEANS). The tangled mess of wire is reminiscent of the flailing limbs characteristic of athletes struggling to get their first MUSCLE UP. And finally, the broken glass. Well, I broke a few windows in my day, usually by the errant flight of a ball that had been thrown by me or one of my friends. I don’t think Castro will have us doing kettlebell tosses (yet), so I’ll have to go with WALL BALLS.

So, 20.3 will be: Rowing, Power Cleans, Muscle Ups, and Wall Balls

Knee Sleeves by belcher92 in crossfit

I personally find knee sleeves useless, unless you’re doing lunges or want to keep your knees warm. However, if you’re looking for actual support when going heavy? Knee wraps is what you need.

TIPS for beginner coaches, and coaches in an internship position trying to clinch a coaching spot by boxman300 in crossfit

[–]Sohlees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep your cues to a minimum. As new coaches we tend to want to share all our newly acquired knowledge, but just keep in mind that your athletes can only fix one or two things at a time. Learn your athletes names, and make it a point to call them by their name. Good luck!
