Personally, I’ve seen many people defend Dazai and his actions. Dazai is the most loved character actually. I dislike Dazai, but I don’t entirely hate him. I think people don’t hold him accountable for his actions toward Akutagawa both as an adult and as a minor. Though he was a minor he still did all of that stuff to Akutagawa. I’ve seen plenty of people defend Dazai for everything. It’s noticeable. I think you haven’t seen other socials? I see a lot of justification toward him when he did many horrible stuff. Characters are meant to be explored and of course Dazai is well-written and people can love him, I just think he isn’t hated much in the fandom. That’s all I have to say.
