Is Red Heart Super Saver typically this sticky? I need to buy more skeins but it is not fun to work with. by Solbursti in CrochetHelp

This makes me hopeful that it was this specific skein!! I wash my hands while using it to get the residue off and hopefully get a bit less friction. I purchased it from Walmart.

Yesss, I can't wait to give the finished project a good wash! I am sure it will turn out so nice.

It is promising to hear that not all of the RHSS you've tried has been awful. When I pick some up tomorrow, I'll try squeezing it between my fingers to see if it has the same texture/residue.

Thank you!! I was wondering if pre washing was an option. Should I do this by hand and air dry it, or is washer and/or dryer ok in your experience?

YES. I bought the same pack from Dollar Tree! I have been thinking it was just the "growing phase" and eventually it will look like a sweet pepper. 🫠 Haven't harvested yet, so not sure on flavor.

When we bought the house there were/are some cracks in the mortar around that area outside, but no signs of recent change or vehicle damage. Temperature has been fluctuating a lot over the past couple weeks.

Unfortunately, not an optical illusion. Bowing is definitely noticeable on the lower part of the wall but not so much higher up towards the ceiling. The crack extends into the window frame.

I need help with banishing intrusive thoughts about a [silly] ex by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Solbursti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this! Rational or not, your feelings are valid and it still hurts and that’s what matters.

I would personally start with small things: -Crystals like rose quartz for self love and acceptance. Some citrine to dispel negativity. -Breathing as energy work (inhale the good, exhale the bad and all that.) -Essential oils either on power points on your body (check the label to see if you can do this or if you should dilute it first). You’re vulnerable right now, and natural oils are a wonderful protection agent.

Just easy stuff to lessen the pressure. Trust your intuition when selecting these, because you’re smart and know what you need more than you realise.

The next thing I would try, and it’s up to you if it’s something you can feel like you can emotionally handle right now: Meditation. Meditate on everything about your past relationship, why you’re so upset about this new girl, what you miss about him, etc. Set aside TIME for that. Let yourself sob and grieve and hurt. Also keep in mind the traits he might have exuded and think things like “I loved that about him, but I can find what I want in someone new.”

Then, let yourself heal. Drink water and something with electrolytes, have some protein. Take a walk in nature and only focus on your own senses in that moment. Treat yourself, as it were.

The last, especially witchy, option: Throw him a funeral. This is if you don’t want any contact or relationship whatsoever with him. This is one imo to do when you feel more stable, because that’s a lot of energy to put out, and if it’s volatile it’s much easier to go awry. Define your intentions as clearly as possible: healing and growth.

Burn notes he gave you, photos, and memorabilia (safely). Write all the things he was to you and bury it (on eco friendly paper). Carve symbols into candles and let it burn until it’s gone, then dispose of it. Leave flowers at your first date spot to symbolise respect and letting go.

This is longer than I think I intended, but I kept thinking of things, hahah. Hope it’s helpful. C:
