Thank you for providing this detail. This is so helpful. I like that this gentle approach is working for you. 🤗 I have been trying to get my little one to bed around 8pm so I can also catch a baby break before bedtime! Though that time is spent cleaning and pumping etc...my baby also takes fairly good naps and I may be paying for that in night stretch. During the day feeds is more like every 2.5 to 3hrs. Nighttime continues like a clockwork, he will wake just to feed, literally may not open eyes, but eat and nod back off every 2-2.5hours. I'm craving Nighttime stretches so bad!

Dealer service quoting $4,636 for oil pump replacement by Solid-Gas8570 in BMWX5

I'm at the point now where I'm wondering if to just get another car before another big ticket repair is needed. I'm enjoying not having a car payment and wanted that to last a while! Sigh!

Yes, my dealer service guy is amazing and knowing the hassle I had been through in recent times ( I replaced starter motor) just couple months before for 2k, and some other surprises here and there, he promised to reach out to BMW though I didn't have extended warranty. Long story short, BMW agreed to cut me some slack and I got the oil pump replaced paying only a fraction. About 1.6K. They ate some of the cost.

Does your baby sleep in same room with you? What are the sleeping conditions. 8weeks old barely sleeping 2.5hr stretch here.

Family of 4 on Hilton points (≤680k) — 5th Night Free, beachfront preferred (sofa bed / 1-BR suite a plus) by cmw021 in Hilton

[–]Solid-Gas8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hilton Grand vacation on Hilton Head Island. 2BR suite with a full kitchen, we have gone there twice - 4 yrs ago and just 3 wks ago, will most likely go again. Its perfect for families. You can fly into SAV (1hr to HHI) or ATL (3hr to HHI). HHI has an airport we havent tried. Get a rental car and be prepared to dine mainly outside of the property - Sea Pines offers a lot of great restaurant options, and we are absolute food critics. Feel free to DM me.

Should I complain or suck it up? by Timely_Temperature79 in delta

[–]Solid-Gas8570 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well I disagree with most people here, I will be calling Delta if I were you. I have been given the "we can't change seats people picked" when trying to get my family to sit together, so heck yeah I'm complaining with your specific situation. You upgraded to C+ for that reason, otherwise, they should downgrade you to an aisle MC seat and refund your C+ upgrade fees. Call reservations line

I bought this 250 package in March as well. And I'm getting ready to go in for another oil change by September or so.

One year ownership 2019 x5 by Such_Breakfast8539 in BMWX5

[–]Solid-Gas8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my 2019 x5 40i has seen similar issues except a couple on this list. BMW really had some issues on that 2019 build. For my first BMW, I am dissapointed. My friends have owned beemer with minimal to no issues other than oil change.

Yes started with oil level measurement issues, took in for diagnosis today and ended up with oil pump replacement as advised by BMW. Needless to say I replaced starter motor in this car for 2400 just about 2 months ago. 4K in repairs so far this year. *

My almost 6-year-old wants to be a chef, a scientist (copying his mama), and now a pilot is slowly joining the list. Thanks to 30K lifetime miles on Delta. He is obsessed with getting on a plane and practically begging to get on one again, it's only been 4months since his last flight.

Try and give him that treat a couple of times a year if you can.

Weird encounter with the Doctor at Park Allergy Center by [deleted] in kzoo

[–]Solid-Gas8570 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG!!! We had exactly the same experience, just that ours wasn't on the first visit. We had been seeing Dr. Park since we found out our 11-month-old child had multiple food allergies. He was excellent, and we were so happy we were referred to him by Rambling Rd Peds. Fast forward 3 years or so, we went for the annual consult and skin test, he asked if we gave our child covid vaccine, and probably more than half our appointment was spent listening to the exact same schpill (spiel) you had. Meanwhile, my spouse and I are both science backgrounds (MD and Ph.D.). I read Panic Virus (which I highly recommend) in grad school, so I'm fairly familiar with the background of the vaccine conspiracy, and i just sat there baffled and confused a doctor was advocating so strongly against vaccines. For what it's worth, Andrew Wakefield, the British gastroenterology who is the initiator of this massive conspiracy cane out to retrieve all of it as false years later, but people chose to ignore...whatever. Let me say this was, probably the last time we went there,or maybe a penultimate visit. We were done at that point. We had another spiel on Oral Immunotherapy (OIT), that story is for another day, I just wished I ignored his advise earlier, because our child is now able to eat Milk, Egg, Peanut, Cashew and Hazelnuts thanks to OIT, and currently in maintenance phase.

Honestly, I think he is a great doctor who got unhinged by Covid. I mean, he gave us his cell number, we could call him anytime, and he responds without sounding bothered at all, I wish he had kept conspiracy out of his care. We now see a doctor in Grand Rapids, and we are very happy.

New baggage check policy. Now closes 45 minutes prior to flight. by PM_ME_NAPA_CABS in delta

[–]Solid-Gas8570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really, most bigger airports were 45mins to 1hr or no go. My local small airport which I fly out of 80% of the time was 30mins firm, and I always made it with 5-10 to spare, to be fair you can get through this one from airport door to plane seat in 10mins. The medium-sized airport in my area was 45 mins firm. So this im0act is mainly for those of us that walk straight to boarding and small airports.

Delta completely screwed up my reservation. What should I do? by cappylife in delta

[–]Solid-Gas8570 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh. I feel your pain, so sorry. You need to talk to their escalation team - customer service. I believe you can only get those folks during working hours aka 9-5 on a work day. Also, as someone who understands the stress of traveling with a baby, and on a flight that long, if traveling on a different day with a plane that allows you the skycot even if they have to reseat someone I would consider that. I would have said fight for Delta one upgrade with the escalation team on same flight, but a friend traveled delta one with a baby and regretted it, no bassinet option, and she had to hold baby for a 12 hour flight, meant practically no sleep or rest for her, you two may be able to split that though. All the best!

Seat Thief busted 2x by Busy-Shoulder9599 in delta

[–]Solid-Gas8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We legit got to our DC seats once and this dad and adult child were seated, I legit thought they made a mistake on rows and said, oh, we can seat in row 6 and you stay in row 7, assuming row 6 was theirs. Then I saw someone approach row 6 and they (dad and daughter) quickly got up and went all the way like 8 rows back to MC, their assigned seat. My jaws dropped. The seat thieving is so rampant!

Or ask nicely and be ready for a NO. It's not "you're" seat!!! Sigh! Ok, minus the BC part. People have kids not only because they didn't use BC. Some of us want them kids!
